In a shocking turn of events, fan favorite Colton Dixon has been eliminated off of American Idol tonight, April 19, 2012.
“The head is still high,” Colton Dixon told THR minutes after the elimination. “I strayed too far from who I was,” Colton sighed, adding, “I knew I was going to be in the bottom three … I turned off a lot of my audience by choosing Lady Gaga.”

Elise has a bad attitude and can’t sing, Holly can’t figure out if she has a British accent or not, Jessica can sing, but had been just OK for a couple of weeks and this past week she tried so hard sounded like screaming, PP could sing a heavy metal song and then a Frank Sinatra song and they would both sound exactly the same. The country girl really has no appeal, Joshua Ledet is AMAZING when he is amazing and is the best left, Colton was the MOST original and MOSt versatile and MOSt talented and even though he did not win AI, he will out sell anyone else from this season or recent seasons… I will be the first to buy his new CD and it can’t come out fast enough…..
I totally predicted that this would happen. I just can’t believe it came true! He kept taking songs and tried to make it “original” every week. Well, every song sounded the same each week. His performances both sucked this week and I think people got sick of hearing him sing the same thing.

all of you colton fans should have been vote all the way so he has not been eliminated.
The judges should pick one person they think should be the winner and save only them.. If they did that they would have still had their save for Colton (Jessica will not win anyway)..I think they thought he would always be safe….This has really stuffed the show.. It has lost its original romantic glam rock edge without Colton…

I agree he was a good,however, he sang to god which is OK my me. A young girl that just loved him thought he was singing about girls, when she was told it was to god she stop voting for him. I said, if he didn’t start singing for the young girls he would be voted off. There are a lot of artist that believe in god and sing songs once in awhile about the god they love, however it didn’t make them the American Idol. He had the look that young girls like, His voice was strong but he didn’t sing to the girls that vote. Good luck to him.
Elise was the best, I didn’t care for Colton.
