The Amazing Race aired its seventh leg of the season tonight, April 8, 2012 titled “I Didn’t Make Her Cry.” The six remaining teams traveled from Azerbaijan to Tanzania.
Rachel and Vanessa get into a huge fight tonight. It starts when Brendon goes by Ralph, bumping into him and giving him the middle finger. Art & JJ witness it all and confront Brendon about it. This sets off Rachel and Vanessa at each other. In the promo, we see Rachel asking Vanessa if she’s 38, telling her to grow up.
LIVE SHOW RECAP:
Rachel and Dave are the first to depart on leg 7 of the race and must travel to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Rachel Reiley is so excited because she has always wanted to go on an African safari. Art tells Rachel and Brandon that Nary & Jamie are agents and not teachers. Brendon doesn’t care.
Vanessa & Ralph arrive at the same travel agency and Rachel R. tells them the earliest flight is 10am, but Vanessa thinks Rachel is lying to her.
Rachel R. & Brendon get upset when they feel that Vanessa & Dave pushed ahead of them at the airport and they get into a disagreement with the couple. Vanessa accuses Rachel that all she does is “run off her mouth.” Rachel states that Vanessa is “like 38 years old.” Vanessa shoots back, “next time get your nose done before you get your boobs done.” Rachel starts to cry.
Art & JJ are on the first plane with Brendon & Rachel R. Bopper & Mark and Rachel & Dave get on the next plane. Vanessa & Ralph and Nary & Jamie are on the last plane.
Once they land, teams must choose a safari truck and head to Ngorongoro Crater. Art & JJ are the first team to arrive and it is a Detour. Teams have to choose between “Marksmaship” where they learn to hunt and master the use of a local weapon or “Courtship” where teams join Bandai warriors in traditional jumping ritual for an exhausting minute.
Art & JJ chose Marksmanship. Brendon & Rachel R. chose Bandai and finish first. Now, they have to ride a bike back to their Safari truck then head to Simba Campsite. Art & JJ are a close second. Nary & Jamie are currently in fifth place.
Rachel & Dave get their bikes and Rachel thinks her bike is too tall for her. She falls off and then refuses to get back on it slowing the two down. Lucky for them, this doesn’t hurt them too much as other teams make mistakes getting to the Simba Campsite. So, Rachel & Dave actually end up being the first team to arrive.
Once at the campsite, teams must assemble tents. Once they finish, they can check in at the Pit Stop.
Brendon & Rachel R. arrive next, followed by Bopper & Mark. Art & JJ follow.
Vanessa & Ralph also experience bike issues and fall behind.
Rachel & Dave start to argue as they are building their tent. He tells her to shut her mouth and she snaps back by saying he is the most negative person she has ever met in her life.
