The Voice aired The Final Battles of Season 2 March 26, 2012. This is the final chance for the remaining contestants to make the live rounds. We are live blogging the show below so check to see who was eliminated and went home on The Voice tonight and who made the live rounds.
TEAM CEE LO GREEN
ROUND ONE:
Cee Lo James vs. Wade to sing True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. James works with mentor Ne-Yo who tells him he needs to improve his confidence if he wants to succeed in the competition.
Wade works with Babyface who tells him he has to move people with this song.
ROUND TWO:
Cee Lo pits Tony Vincent and Justin Hopkins on Faithfully by Journey. Babyface will mentor Tony and Ne-Yo comes in as advisor for Justin.
Battle Night: Adam said he would pick Justin. Blake also picks Justin. Christina would go with Tony. Cee Lo was moved by Justin but picks Tony to move on! Justin is eliminated and will go home.
TEAM ADAM LEVINE
ROUND ONE:
Adam pairs Nicolle with Mathai to sing Love Song by Sarah Bareilles. Nicolle works with Robin Thicke as her mentor who tells her to be more physical and confident and to connect with the audience.
Mathai works with Alanis Morissette as her mentor who loves her voice and confidence.
Battle night: Nicolle is a bit pitchy in the beginning. Mathai controls the stage. Blake said it comes down to breathing and Mathai on this round. Christina says it’s a no-brainer: Mathai is it. Cee Lo picks Mathai as well. Adam says he thought they both did better in rehearsal. Adam picks Mathai to advance to the live shows. Nicolle is eliminated and goes home.
ROUND TWO:
For his final pairing, Adam pits Karla Davis against Orlando Napier on Rich Girl by Hall and Oats. Once the singers meet with Adam, it’s obvious that the two have a lot of problems with the song choice. So, Adam changes it to Easy Like A Sunday Morning by the Lionel Richie which seems to fit them much better.
Karla works with Alanis Morissette as her mentor who tells her that she needs to get bigger and badder with her voice. Orlando works with Robin Thicke who tells him that he needs to project some more.
Battle Night: Blake thought it was a tie and good battle but he’d pick Orlando. Christina did not think either one was that great but said Karla was more entertaining. Cee Lo said he’s pick Orlando. Adam picks Karla to advance to the live rounds! This was a tough decision but he knows she has more to come from her voice! Orlando Napier is going home and is eliminated.
Christina pairs Moses Stone with The Line on Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. Moses works with Lionel Richie as his mentor who tells him that he needs to get more power behind him.
Battle Night: The Line and Moses are all nervous and the performance was good. Cee Lo says it was great and could not believe Moses can sing! He’d pick Moses. Adam and Blake would pick the Line. Christina picks Moses! The Line is eliminated and goes home.
TEAM BLAKE SHELTON
For his final team battle, Blake picks Jorden Rager vs. Naia Kete to perform I am Yours by Jason Meraz. Jorden gets paired with Miranda Lambert as his mentor and Naia works with Kelly Clarkson. Kelly is amazed by Naia’s voice.
Last rehearsal and Blake is impressed by Jorden. He has been really practicing. He has the momentum and this should be good.
Battle Round: Christina says Jorden gave a solid performance and Naia strayed off a bit in the end but she’d still pick Naia. Cee Lo would pick Naia as well. Adam thinks Jorden did well despite being nervous. Blake picks Naia to advance to the live rounds! Jorden is eliminated and will go home. Blake’s team is now complete.
