The Amazing Race 2012 aired a new episode March 18, 2012 called, ‘Uglier Than A Mud Rail Fence.’ If you missed any of last week’s episode of The Amazing Race, click here for a full recapThat episode featured team Kentucky Bopper and Mark as the last team to arrive at the pit stop. Art and J.J. approached Bopper and Mark and told them that they wanted to share their $10,000 winnings with Bopper so that his daughter might get better treatment for her health problems. And, it was a non-elimination round, so, Bopper and Mark stay to fight another round!

On tonight’s episode, the remaining teams continued with the fifth leg of the race in Bavaria, Germany with the teams scouring King Ludwig’s quarters (the castle which inspired Sleeping Beauty’s castle). The teams searched for magical gnomes and an evil witch tried to stop them as things got really hairy.

LIVE BLOG RECAP:

We start this leg of the race in Turin, the site for the 2006 Olympics. Art & JJ are the first team to depart and race to the train station to head to Ehrwald, Austria. Of course, the last team to depart are Mark and Bopper.

Once they teams art the Detour, they must choose from “Fairytale” where they have to pick up pieces of gingerbread, find the witch and build a gingerbread house (HOW COOL) or, “Champion Male” where they have to style a man’s beard (NOT SO COOL!).

Kerri and Stacy lose speed and quickly become dead bottom team. Because they were the last team to arrive at the last pit stop, Mark and Bopper get an extra Seed Bump that no other team has to complete: They have to learn to yodel.

Art & JJ choose to style a man’s beard and are the fist team to finish. They then head to Neuschwanstein Castle.

Rachel & Dave also choose to style a beard and finish the task second. As they leave, Vanessa & Dave arrive to style a beard. Kerri & Stacy and Brendon & Rachel R. have not yet to arrived at the Detour. Bopper and Mark finished their Speed Bump and already arrived at the Detour.

Joey and Danny have a hard time with the beard styling task. They do finally finish and head to the castle next. Nary & Jamie and Vanessa & Ralph are still working on styling a beard but Vanessa & Ralph finish first between the two teams. Mark & Bopper arrive at the gingerbread house – finally, someone chose this task!

Once at the castle, Art & JJ climb a long winding road while Vanessa & Ralph also join them. Vanessa is complaining.

Nary & Jamie finished the bear styling task. Brendon & Rachel R, Kerry & Stacy, Mark & Bopper are all still trying to finish their gingerbread houses. Kerry & Stacy finish that task first and head to the castle.

Art & JJ are the first team to get their next clue: Head to town of Fusen to a ice hockey and curling rink. Joey & Danny get the clue next as well as Vanessa & Dave.

Art & JJ find the clue box first – they’re really doing well. The clue is a Road Block and teams must use their gnome and play a game of curling.

Kerri & Stacy went to the wrong castle and have to find the real one. Bopper & Mark do the exact same thing, slowing themselves down again.

Art & JJ are the first team to finish the gnome and head to the pitstop located at Landhannes Farm and are the first team to arrive for the third week in a row. The win a trip for two to Thailand.
