Watching Jon B. in action, performing live at the Key Klub in Hollywood on Valentine’s Day reminded me that he is an extremely talented musician! The consummate artist, with several gold and platinum records already under his belt, is excited to be back on the music scene with the release of his latest and long-awaited CD, Comfortable Swagg.

Released on 2/14/12, his latest album, Comfortable Swagg, features Jon’s classic sound which his longtime fans love, and his progressive vibe that consistently keeps him ahead of his time. His first single, Only One, is a powerful ballad. Check the video below!

Growing up in the 80’s, Jon’s early influences include Duran Duran, Inxs, Marving Gaye, Michael Jackson, Prince, Sade, and Babyface. It was Tracy Edmonds and Babyface who first signed Jon B. to Edmonds Record Group.

Jon B.’s freshman album went platinum and Jon was honored with a Grammy nod for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for his single, Someone to Love. His sophomore effort Cool Relax also went platinum and earned him multiple Billboard Music Award nominations including Top R&B Artist, Top Hot R&B Single for They Don’t Know/Are U Still Down, Top Hot R&B Singles Artist and a Soul Train Music Award nomination for Best Male Single. Are U Still Down featuring the legendary Tupac Shakur collaborating with Jon in the studio, before his death in 96.

Jon, an artist who can’t be “pinned down to one sound or style,” worked with such divers and legendary powerhouses as Nas, Old Dirty Bastard, Scarface, Cuban Link and Faith Evans on his third and fourth albums. Jon has also produced records for Luther Vandross, Toni Braxton, Color Me Badd, and remixed Michael Jackson’s You Are Not Alone.
Jon’s fifth album, Helpless Romantic, was released in 2008. Though not as commercially successful as his past endeavors, the album got Jon back into the basics of writing, producing and singing and his loyal fans continued to support him.

Somewhere in between his last album and Comfortable Swagg, Jon B. married his wife and together they had a beautiful little girl who they have been raising for five years. Jon started his own label, Vibezelect which now gives him the creative freedom to produce the music he wants to create and which his fans crave. His latest album contains an innovative sound which only Jon can deliver through such songs as Goin Down, produced and co-written by ADONIS, plus some funky dance tunes for the club scene and his usual chill style songs perfect for the bedroom.
