SPOTTED: CSI star Marg Helgenberger at The Grove in Los Angeles to chat with Mario Lopez of Extra about her final episode on the CBS crime series. The actress told Lopez, “What I can tell you is that I do somehow end up in the autopsy room in a body bag on the slab.”

Helgenberger just received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but will be replaced on CSI by Leaving Las Vegas actress Elizabeth Shue. Even though Helgenberger says she will show up on the autopsy table, she hinted that she may be back on the show to play cameos. “The producers said, ‘Please, you know we’ve left the door wide open if we write a special episode or two, would you be willing to come back?’ and I said, ‘Why not?’ Come on, it’s the best job I’ve ever had!”

No kidding on the part about this being the best job she’s ever had considering she used to work as a boner. Yes, a boner. When she said that, the fans crowded behind her during the interview giggled. She turned to them and said, “By the way, nasty people, I hear you whispering and gasping. It’s a legitimate term, boner.”

To explain her old job,  Helgenberger  said: “It was a meat packing plant! I worked in a meat packing plant! Anybody who, like, trims the fat off of beef to shape it into… in my case, it was tenderloins.” She added, “Whoo! I got that out!”

Helgenberger’s last episode CSI airs Wednesday, January 25 at 10 PM on CBS.
