There were many amazing performances on the October 25, 2011 episode of The X Factor USA but one of the best of them was by Melanie Amaro.

The song Melanie chose, a Whitney Houston classic, I Have Nothing, prompted L.A. Reid to simply say, “We really did save the best for last because, honey, you were unbelievable.”

Simon Cowell, her mentor who also had eliminated her last week before graveling to get her back on the show, said he now thinks Melanie can win the whole thing.

  1. There’s no doubt Melanie has an amazing talent and all will enjoy her for years to come. However, I believe she can’t help but win solely because the three judges (LA/Paula/Nichole) are so busy arguing against Simon, they will cast off anyone who’s mentored by him, even if that person is the best! Melanie on the other hand was actually a favorite of all of them initially, so they JUST MIGHT all vote if she has to sing against one of the their contestants. Their jealousy and dispicable child-like behavior toward Simon is sadly cast on the contestants, and nothing is fair with their idiocy. We think the judges are all forgetting that Simon is the creator. Be a little more respectful!!! As of this week, I’ve actually stopped watching XFactor because that hateful feeling that comes through the TV is not what I want to go to sleep at night! Adults should be an example for the younger set, unfortunately, LA, Paula, and Nicole are horrible examples for the contestants, and certainly aren’t examples of any mentor I’d want for my child! Keep up the good work Simon — you’re the best and it’s easy to see, you tell the truth with love in your heart for all groups with constructive criticism, and when they are on stage, you are always there with them — we can tell — you truly care for your contestants. Drew’s performance by the way, in the chair, was FABULOUS! What lost her the vote wasn’t the chair — it was LA being so negative and critical and obviously trying to get rid of her. The bickering over her after every performance made it clear she was being singled out!
