After 19 amazingly thrilling years in the NBA, former Los Angeles Laker and current Boston Celtic hot shot Shaquille O’Neal has decided to hang up his sneakers. Permanently.

The Diesel made the retirement announcement via a video he posted through his Twitter page. “We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that’s why I’m telling you first, I’m about to retire. Thank you, talk to you soon.”

Shaq won three Championship titles with the Lakers and another with the Heat. In addition to the four Championship rings, Shaq retires with three Finals MVP Awards and one NBA MVP Award.  He was named to the All-Star team 15 times and was awarded the 1993 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He is currently fifth on the NBA all-time scoring list with 28,596 points (728 ahead of Kobe Bryant). We will miss you big guy!
