Legendary Wrestler Randy Savage “Macho Man” Dies In Car Accident

Wrestling legend and actor “Macho Man” Randy Savage died Friday in Seminole, Florida when he lost control of his vehicle after he suffered a heart behind the wheel. He was 58.

His wife, Lynn, was also in the car, a Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler flew across a concrete median onto oncoming traffic and eventually hit a tree head-on. Lynn survived the accident with minor injuries.

The couple had just celebrated their 1-year anniversary on May 10.

Hulk Hogan said via Twitter: “I’m completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we’ve finally started to talk and communicate. I just pray that Randy’s happy and in a better place and we miss him.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also showed his grief through Twitter: “You were one of my childhood inspirations and heros. Strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family.”

Savage dabbled in acting in such roles as wrestler Bonesaw McGraw in Spider-Man (2002). He also was the voice behind “the thug” in Disney’s Bolt (2008). He also played himself on Mad About You, Baywatch and The Jeff Foxworthy Show.
