Elizabeth Taylor Was Late To Her Own Funeral

Talk about a grand entrance! The grandest of Hollywood icons, Elizabeth Taylor, was late to her own funeral Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif.

A private funeral held for friends and family was scheduled to begin at 2 PM but started exactly 15 minutes late due to strict instructions left by the humorous late actress.

Her publicist explained: “The service was scheduled to begin at 2 pm but at Miss Taylor’s request started late. Miss Taylor had left instructions that it was to begin at least 15 minutes later than publicly scheduled, with the announcement, ‘She even wanted to be late for her own funeral.'”

The service lasted one hour and then Taylor’s casket was interred in The Great Mausoleum close to her longtime friend Michael Jackson.

The service was officiated by Rabbi Jerry Cutler and actor Colin Farrell, Taylor’s son Michael Wilding, her daughter Liza Burton Tivey and her grandson Tarquin Wilding all read selected writings at the multi-dimensional service.

Her grandson Rhys Tivey performed a trumpet solo of Amazing Grace.

Taylor passed away Wednesday at age 79 after struggling with heart problems for the past few months. She is survived by four children and 10 grandchildren.

A public service in her honor is expected to he held at a later date. May you rest in peace beautiful Elizabeth.
