Only five more months until the immortal Captain Jack Sparrow will be back terrorizing the high seas. LOL. Well, you know, not exactly terrorizing. More like, charmingly stealing his way back into our hearts yet again.

On May 20, Johnny Depp will reprise the iconic role which he created from scratch as he once again sets foot into Captain Jack Sparrow’s mucky boots in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Here is some good news while we wait: Warner Bros. has released the above official photo plus five more pics (see below) from the movie which chronicles Jack’s search for the Fountain of Youth. This time around, Jack is joined by the beautiful Penelope Cruz who stars as a former love of his. Terry Rossio, the film’s screenwriter told USA Today: “Jack has perhaps not only met his equal, but also found that she is a kindred spirit who is a con artist at heart as well. She’s not only a romantic interest, but an equal and effective adversary.” OOOOOH – that just sounds too juicy!

Neither Orlando Bloom nor Keira Knightley appears in the fourth installment of this movie franchise, which at first sounds like a huge negative. But Johnny Depp has an interesting take on the direction of the new flick. Here is what he told USA Today: “What’s most interesting about ‘Pirates 4′ is you don’t have to connect the dots for these subplots and sub-characters. It felt like a fresh, clean slate.”

The Oscar-nominated Depp described the relationship with his new partner in crime as played by Penelope Cruz by saying: “We have our bouts in the film, but there’s also this residue of what might have been. It’s a kind of love-hate thing… there’s a little flavor of both.”  OK–Johnny, now, you’re just teasing us ’cause five months is still a long time mate to have to wait to feast our eyes on your lovable character, let alone the potential for a delicious love story for him.
