Tim Howard, the goal keeper for the U.S. Men’s National Team, was heroic, to say the least, during the team’s heartbreaking loss to Belgium in the 2014 Word Cup. Howard made 16 saves during the game which is the most in any World Cup match since 1966–when they started keeping records.

So, of course, the internet became flooded with memes dedicated to Howard, using hashtag #ThingsTimHowardCouldSave.  Check out some of the best Photoshopped memes showing Howard making history-making changes!

Howard is world class. He could have blamed his record 16 saves on his teammates’ failure to show any offense in regulation time. But, he took the high road, saying, “We gave everything we had, and to be honest, we’re proud of that.”

Howard followed suit on his Twitter account, writing, “Im proud to suit up w every one of these guys. It’s a tremendous honor to represent this country & a ride I’ll never forget. Thx for joining.”
