Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato Honored At Unite4:Humanity Gala

SPOTTED: Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato at unite4:good and Variety’s unite4:humanity Gala held at Sony Pictures Studios on in Culver City, Calif. This was Selena’s first public appearance since news of her rehab stint broke. The singer looked her gorgeous and radiant self in a pink, jeweled Antonio Berardi jumpsuit, Manolo Blahnik heels, and Neil Lane jewelry.

The 21-year-old duo were both being honored at the event. Selena received the Young Visionary Award and Demi took home the Young Luminary Award.

In accepting her award which was presented to her by her Rudderless director and co-star William H. Macy, Selena was sure to thank her BFF Demi. “I’m truly honored to be in a room with such incredible people that inspire me. I want to thank my family. They are the ones who taught me the importance of giving back before we had anything to give back… I have to say, I want to thank Demi.”

A choked up Selena added, “Just the fact that we’re here at 21 years old, and we’ve always talked about using our voice to help this generation… I feel like sometimes we’re the only ones holding the fort, and I’m so thankful for you to inspire me everyday. I hope that we can, together, completely inspire this generation to focus on what’s really important. So thank you so much.”

After the event ended, Gomez took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her trophy, with the caption: “By far the coolest award I’ve received -Young humanitarian award! Beyond proud to represent UNICEF since I was 17.”

Eva Longoria presented Lovato with the Young Luminary Award. In her speech, Demi told the packed audience about the way she celebrated her 21st birthday with a humanitarian trip to Africa.

“I was struggling a lot with personal issues. I had to celebrate differently than a lot of other people. It was better than poisoning myself for a good night out.”

Also appearing at the event were Demi’s main man Wilmer Valderrama, Katherine Heigl, Beth Behrs, Alicia Keys, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lindsey Stirling, Karina Smirnoff,  and Jada Pinkett Smith.
