Adam Levine was just crowned People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” — a deserving title which means “everything” to him.

The Maroon 5 frontman and a coach on NBC’s The Voice appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday to officially accept the award which has gone to such super hunks as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Channing Tatum in the past.

“Thank you. This is a tremendous honor, unbelievable,” Levine gushed.

“A lot of people kind of trivialize this sort of thing…They think it’s shallow. They think it’s just a silly media stunt used to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks. And that’s totally true. It is. But I’m completely cool with that!”

Levine who was holding a mirror trophy presented to him by Kimmel added: “This award actually means everything to me. Becoming this cool, confident and seductive has been quite a journey.”

Adam continued his acceptance speech by giving credit where credit is due. “First and foremost, my mother and father, both incredibly sexy. Especially my dad, thanks man. I’d like to thank all my friends for constantly telling me how f*cking good I look.”

“Ryan Gosling, thank you for turning this down constantly. That really helped my campaign.”

“And finally, I’d like to thank –surprisingly, I’d like to thank Nick Nolte, People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ 1992, for making me feel like maybe, maybe this award wasn’t as out of reach as I might have once thought.”
