Sunday night’s episode of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA (March 31, 2013) was called “Divas into Icons”. Below is a full recap of the Season 5, Episode 21 finale of RHOA:

It’s been a week of highs and lows for the ladies of the ATL. First, Porsha Stewart’s husband Kordell made a shocking divorce filing. Porsha was reportedly blindsided by the filing, stating that she believed she and Kordell were going to work on their marriage. Porsha’s representatives responded to the filing with the following statement “Mrs. Stewart is disappointed about her husband’s recent filing for divorce. Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her. Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media. Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith.”

In another shocking twist, NeNe Leakes and former BFF Kim Zolciak who have been bitter enemies trading barbs and insults for the past few seasons have kissed and made up. Fans have been pulling for this reconciliation since their friendship imploded during season 3. The two hashed out their issues during the reunion taping and shared the happy news on twitter. NeNe tweeted “Just had the best chat with @Kimzolciak!” Kim chimed in “My heart is at such peace @neneleakes best chat ever! See u soon! #onwardandupward.”

More good news for Ms. Leakes, she is planning her re-marriage to ex-husband Gregg. Success is working well for NeNe, she seems to be putting the drama behind her. She is planning her wedding and revealed that all of her fellow housewives are invited to the ceremony.  “At the end of the day we’re all on the same journey together, so I feel like we can put our differences aside and invite them all to my wedding.”

Phaedra Parks has embarked on yet another business venture. In addition to being an attorney, running a funeral home and creating a workout video she has added stun guns to her plethora of businesses. She is calling the new venture “Phaedra Sparks.” While Phaedra and Kandi were testing out stun guns, Porsha got a shock of her own. She and her husband Kordell attended a marriage counseling session and Kordell seems less than enthused. Porsha tells the therapist that she wants a baby and a career and she does not think that Kordell is ready for that. Kordell says that he wants his wife to be home raising their child. They admit that they do not have a modern day marriage. Kordell also admits that he is somewhat controlling and tells her “if it’s not about winning then you will lose all the time.” The therapist asks him what he is willing to do to help his wife have both a baby and a career… Kordell has no response.

Kenya’s costume ball took center stage during this week’s episode. Kenya views this as her coming out party since it is her first big party in Atlanta, the theme of the party was black iconic women in film and Kenya assigned each of the ladies a character to come dressed as. Most of the ladies were assigned fun, iconic women as costumes, but Kenya asked her frenemy Porsha to come as Halle Berry from B.A.P.S. Porsha found this insulting since this character had tight clothes, big hair and a gold tooth. Kenya thinks “it’s good enough for Halle Berry, it should be good enough for Porsha” but Porsha thinks Kenya is making a fool out of her in that costume so instead she attended the party as Halle Berry from Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.

Kenya twirls out of control once she catches sight of Porsha dressed as Dandridge, she calls her “disrespectful” and asks her to leave the party. Kandi and her boyfriend Todd, Cynthia and her husband Peter left in solidarity, with Peter shouting “f**k her and f**k her party.” Things get heated outside when Kordell steps in to defend his wife and Kenya says she’s “already talking to one b**ch I don’t want to talk to two.” Phaedra threatens to “start Kenya’s shock therapy” with her new taser. NeNe arrives and talks some sense into Kenya telling her not to burn bridges and to be the bigger person; “there’s a difference between keeping it real and keeping it real f**king crazy.” NeNe says she likes Kenya and would like to see her do better. Kenya begrudgingly apologizes to Porsha, but the apology was half hearted, last night during the show Kenya tweeted “My party my way or the highway. Sorry.”

Next Week- Reunion! Kenya accuses Phaedra’s husband Apollo of texting her inappropriately, Kenya later argues with Cynthia’s husband Peter telling him “don’t come for me unless I send for you.” Kim Zolciak returns.
