But he won’t be competing. Bret is back as a previous champion to serve an a boardroom adviser!!  So happy to see his face again.

The task for tonight is to create an interactive travel expo for South Africa tourism. The project managers for this task are Brande Roderick and Penn Jillette. Who was fired tonight? Who went home?

LOOK BELOW for a live blog and live recap of tonight’s (4/21/13) Celebrity Apprentice and to find out who Donald Trump fired tonight.

LIVE SHOW RECAP:
We pick up with last week’s ending and hear Lisa saying it’s time for Gary to go home even though he is funny, creative and has a beautiful spirit. But everyone is shocked that Stephen is the one fired. Plan B is down to three players and Team Power who used to lose all the time has four. Lisa is now impressed that Gary is still here despite being the losing PM–a rare occurrence this season.

Trace heads off to the Red Cross to drop off a $40,000 check in honor of Superstorm Sandy relief. He says devastation from Sandy was beyond anything that he could have ever imagined. Trace has raised over $700,000 for the American Red Cross so far thisseason. Amen Trace!

The contestants arrive in middle of Times Square for their next task assignment and are joined by Donald Trump along with Bret Michaels. Their next task is to create an interactive South African travel expo to help with tourism in South Africa. They will be judges on creativity, presentation and feedback by travel professionals. Penn is the Project Manager for Plan B and Brande for Power.

The teams have to fight over which package to promote between the adventure package and the romance package. They both want the adventure one. Plan B ends up with the romance one and Power wins the adventure package with a coin toss. The winning PM gets $20,000 for his/her charity. Brande seems overwhelmed once she realizes the enormity of the task.

TEAM PLAN B
The execs talk to the team about luxurious nature of the package. Gary has been to South Africa so he feels that he has some knowledge he can share except he starts talking about how he heard murders taking place every night in Johannesburg. Penn is speechless and later says it takes a lot to shock him and he just wanted Gary to shut the f*ck up.

Penn is bothered by the fact that he only has three people on his team, one of whom is Gary. He says this is a task where numbers actually matter and Gary is not doing anything. He is pissed that Gary keeps saying he can’t do anything. “Motherf*cker, you can pick up the phone and make a call,” Penn says to the camera.

Spa, art, dance, wine, and food are five features for romance package which Plan B must promote. Because Gary did not do any of his jobs, Penn calls his connections and gets dancers and musicians as well as a South African five-star food chef for the event. He was also able to secure alcohol for the expo. Lisa is impressed how fast Penn pulled this together. She thinks he is a rock star and too smart for anyone to go against.

George visits the team and Penn is mad that Gary is speaking with George. Penn warns Gary not to bring up murders in Johannesburg. Lisa points out that Gary is more focused on eating than he is on working. Gary on the other hand is in la la land thinking everything is peachy good and everything is joyous and equal.

Plan B wants this task to end. But they have everything in place including Paul Simon’s musician who played on his“Graceland” album. Lisa feels that they have South Africa in the room!

TEAM POWER
Zip lining, golfing, surfing, shark cage diving and glamping (glamorous camping) are the five features Power has to feature. Trace is pissed off that they can’t feature the safari feature of the package which is the most attractive part of the package. The execs, Stu and Evelyn, meet with the team and Lil Jon asks why they chose these 5 features in particular and not a safari. The execs say because there is more to South Africa than just a safari and they want people to get a better feel of what else they can do in South Africa. After their meeting, Trace realizes they got the more difficult of the two packages to work with.

Trace comes up with a simple slogan that he even admits sucks: “You plus South Africa equals adventure.”

They want to divide the features among the players. Trace says he knows some South African golfers but unfortunately, none of them are in NYC now. Brande is stressed because this was a ‘beast of a challenge’. She feels she has it all on her shoulder but at least she hasan allegiance to her original Team Power buddy Lil Jon who tries to de-stress her.

Lil Jon wants someone in a cage dressed as a shark and tries to bite people. He also tells Trace to get a small putting green but Trace thinks that everything is becoming a bit juvenile and silly.  Once Lil Jon recommended that for zip lining they put people in chairs and push them around, Trace said, “this is baaaaaaaaaaaaad!”

Bret Michaels stops by–which must be weird because he was a player this season. Now, he’s the one they have to impress. Brande tells him that they do not have enough money for the printing and now only have 20 minutes to resize everything. She spends a lot of time to explain the whole thing to Bret. Bret says in theory, this could be really good but thought Brande and her team seemed ‘discombobulated.’ I love that word.

Power is very excited about their progress. Brande says they have done a great job and she really wants to win because she has yet to win money for her charity. Trace has no idea what they have. He does not know if this is good or silly. He’s curious as to how it pans out.

THE PRESENTATION
Travel professionals and the execs will review the presentations. Power serves South African tea before they start–well played since the execs say the smell was like “home.” Their pamphlet was also very helpful as was their video. Trace used his golfing know how and Marilu used a speeding chair to demonstrate zip lining by pushing around George and Bret Michaels who she says she adores. Lil Jon takes people behind a cage and a man in a shark suit attacks them. Brande thinks the execs enjoyed themselves. They sure look like they did.

For Plan B, they did a great job despite Gary running his mouth. They have a feast of South African food and South African musicians and dancers. They served alcohol during their presentation. The dancers and the music are awesome. Their presentation looks a lot more professional and clean than Powers’. Penn said he’s brought world class dancers and chef to his expo. And he is right.

THE BOARDROOM, ROUND 1
Brande said she was proud of her team and said she has a strong team. She also admitted that having an extra person was an advantage. Trace said Brande did well as this was a challenging task. Lil Jon says Brande was a good leader. He says he knows her well and tries to get her to relax because she stresses too much. Trump asks if she is a leader or just a “stressed out bitch”. WOW. He then says he is kidding.

We find out that Power’s handout was a huge hit. Brande tries to take credit for it but Marilu kindly reminds her that it was her idea! The execs want to use their handout in the future.

For Plan B. Penn says he had a lot of South Africa in that room. He does not drink and this was the first time ever he’s bought alcohol. Lisa says Penn rocked it as a PM. When asked how one can manage Gary, Penn said you can’t manage Gary because he is an adult. Lisa says Gary did well. When asked how Gary did, Penn said he is wonderful and a genius. He says he is very enthusiastic and full of love. Gary said that was nice and thanked him. Trump interrupted and said, “I am not sure that was that nice.” After Gary goes off for a while, Trump calls him a poet and says “you have something very special.” Penn says, “no doubt about that.” When asked if Gary did all that he was asked of, Penn said no. Gary tried to say the dancers came from an agency and Penn corrected him and said a friend of his got the dancers.

George says that he loved Plan B’s atmosphere (the music, the dance, the food) and that the execs felt transported to South Africa. They also brought authenticity to the experience. But the negative is that there was no specific location or information required to sell  someone to go to South Africa. The execs loved Power and the fact that they went beyond their five features like having teas and highlighting messages. They loved their brochure but felt that there was a lack of a unique experience. One exec felt that it was a juvenile exhibit and an amusement park –just as Trace had thought. Turmp said to Brande that the execs just did not feel like her expo was ‘up to par.’

PLAN B WINS!

BOARDROOM, ROUND 2
Trace said his team was scattered. Marilu says Brande was great as PM and is definitely a leader. Lil Jon is sad because his team always won when he last played. Lil Jon blames Bret for having picked the team! Lil Jon says that the romance package was easy which is was why Plan B won–but this team fought for the adventure package. Lil Jon keeps saying romance is easy. So, that gets Trump wondering if Lil Jon should be fired since he had said in the beginning of the boardroom that he wanted the adventure package. Bret says no because it was just a choice. When asked who should get fired, he said Brande had the world on her shoulder as PM but she did a great job.

Brande cannot say who should be fired–she says Trump should make the decision. She saves her buddy Lil Jon (because she feels a sense of loyalty to him) and brings back Trace and Marilou. Trump questions Brande’s choice because Lil Jon wanted the adventure package. Trump told Brande she could change her mind and she stuck with her choice. But, Trace has won as PM twice and Marilu once. How can he fire winners?

FINAL BOARDROOM
Trace thinks the slogan that he came up with was not great and he says again that the idea was juvenile. But they did not lose because of the slogan. Trump says Brande should have brought back Lil Jon. He says the brochure was the execs’ favorite part and Marilu came up with the idea. She says Lil Jon said it was the best brochure he’s seen. When asked who should be fired, Marilu had a hard time but said there was an overall lack of design. She says Lil Jon should be fired and laugh! He says Penn’s team won 3-1, so, it was a hand’s down loss for Brande’s team.
