Tonight February 5, 2013, The Bachelor airs the second of a two-part event. Sean Lowe has 9 contestants left to take out on dates. Who does Sean eliminate tonight? Who gets a rose? ONE ON ONE DATE WITH CATHERINE
Catherine Giudici gets the night’s first one on one date which involves a ride on a snow truck ride on a glacier, followed by a night time visit to an ice castle. Sean is head over heels for Catherine, so, she gets a rose. Sean says Catherine has melted his heart and now he believes again after last episode’s confusion and uncertainty that he can find love.
GROUP DATE
Tierra, Sarah, Selma, Daniella, Lindsay, Lesley, and AshLee get the group date which involves a bikini-clad polar plunge in almost freezing waters. There is a lifeguard and and EMT on hand in case of an emergency. Selma says to the camera, “I will do whatever for love, but I won’t do this. I don’t think it’s necessary to put my life at risk. Call me a princess.” I agree. Sean tried to convince Selma about this being a once in a lifetime opportunity…Selma tells him she’s from the desert and they don’t do this. She asks Sean if he will be mad at her. He says no….but something tells me this will count against her.
During this date, Tierra suffers from hypothermia. When everyone gets out of the water, they feel great and exhilarated except for Tierra who is shaking. EMT wraps her up and takes her away to a car parked back at the hotel. WTH? Shouldn’t there have been an ambulance ready?? Instead of taking her to a hospital, they bring her to the hotel room. Catherine sees her and says she’s never seen anyone so disheveled. Meanwhile, the rest of the women who did the plunge were saying it was an amazing experience and it bonded them. Of course Sean comes checking up on Tierra and asks if he could crawl into bed with her. “I’m always getting hurt around you,” says Tierra. “You keep managing to find ways to get one on one time with me,” says Sean.
Sarah has a surprise for Sean–she shows him photos of her family and her childhood. She tells Sean she can’t wait for him to meet her family…We know that she leaves tonight before the rose ceremony, so, not sure what happens….Perhaps this was too much for Sean to hear and made it that much more real. Maybe he let’s her go to be kind because he does not feel the same way…the blog continues…
Lesley gets the group date rose because Sean says he turned the corner with Lesley today–this was because she opened up to Sean earlier and told him she’s falling for him.
SEAN BREAKS UP WITH SARAH
After the group date, Sean is heard saying to the camera that he has to send someone home now, two days before rose ceremony, because he does not see forever with her. ‘She is so sweet’, Sean says, that he wants to spare her now…he comes to the girls’ room and asks to speak to Sarah. When alone, Sean says he appreciated Sarah showing her her family’s pictures but he felt that they were reaching when they kissed earlier. “It hasn’t been there,” Sean says. Sarah says she’s surprised. “For some reason, it did not 100% click with us…this is by far the hardest decision I’ve had to make thus far but I don’t want to have you sit through another rose ceremony.”
Sarah feels blind-sighted and embarrassed. Sarah says her goodbyes to the other girls who voice their ‘shock.’
ONE ON ONE DATE WITH DESIREE
Desiree gets the second one on one date tonighth…it’s also her second private date this season. The two go off cliff climbing to get to a picnic setup at the end of a huge mountain which is 400 feet steep. Sean is torturing these girls…
Desiree was nervous but got some great cheerleading from Sean. Once the two safely made it down, they had a romantic dinner. Desiree opened up about growing up poor and living in a tent for months. “Money does not matter to me…I want a house full of love,” she says.
Desiree also gets a rose.
ROSE CEREMONY
Selma wants to show Sean that even though she did not have the courage to take the plunge into freezing water, she will kiss him on National TV. “To kiss a man on national TV is a shame in my culture, but tonight I had to bring out the big guns. Sorry mom.” With that, Selma gives Sean a lingering peck. #NotImpressed.
That so so kiss is followed by a passionate makeout session with Lindsay who finally asks Sean to kiss her. #NotAContest.
