Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has turned his critical eye to First Lady Michelle Obama, and he doesn’t like what he sees.

Last week, from social media to the 6 o’clock news, the world was abuzz with talk of
Mrs. Obama’s freshly cut bangs; most people praised the First Lady’s new ‘do, but in an interview with French television station, Lagerfeld had this to say, “I don’t understand the change of hair. Frankly, the fringe (bangs) was a bad idea. It’s not good.”

He continued, “I love Michelle Obama,” but he went on to suggest that she now looked like “une speakerine de LCI”- meaning, an anchor on the French news
network LCI.

Recently, the legendary fashion designer and current creative director of fashion house, Chanel has been making headlines for his scathing criticisms of fellow celebrities. Last year, he publicly apologized for calling singer, Adele ‘too fat’ and said of Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa Middleton: ‘I don’t like her face.

Despite Lagerfeld’s criticisms, Mrs. Obama’s bangs did get a seal of approval from another source, her husband. At an inaugural gala, President Barack Obama said “I love her bangs, she looks good. She always looks good.”
