PERFORMANCES:
ROUND ONE:
1. Josh Krajcik opens the show with Alanis Morrissette’s Uninvited and is joined on stage by Alanis herself!
Judges’ comments: LA said it was surreal and felt that Josh was right at home. Paula said it was a great way to open the show and that Josh held his own up against rock royalty. Simon said Alanis was amazing and looked cute but felt that Josh was a little intimidated in the begining and his second performance will help him. He gave him an 8/10. Nicole felt that Josh gave to the audience as well as to Alanis.
2. Chris Rene sings second, performing Complicated with Avril Lavigne.
Judges’ comments: Nicole says it was a little shaky at the beginning but that Chris came out on top. She also said that Chris’ light is infectious. Paula loves Chris’ energy and called it a feel-good performance. She also said it was a perfect song choice. Simon said Chris’ nerves were very apparent at the start but as the song went on, everything came together and the song could be a hit record. LA agreed and said there were two stars on stage with a record that could be released tomorrow and be a number one hit.
3. Melanie Amaro sings a duet with R. Kelly, I Believe I Can Fly.
Judges’ comments: LA said Melanie is very lucky to sing this song with R. Kelly but said he overshadowed her a bit. Nicole said Melanie did the best in the key she sang in in and put a 1000% in to the performance. Paula said it’s a privilege to sing this song since it is so inspirational. She wanted Melanie to show more emotion but believes in her. Simon said Melanie showed respect to the person she was singing with and said it was incredible duet. He felt that Melanie did not look like someone in a talent competition and he is feeling very good about Melanie Amaro right now.
ROUND TWO:
1. Josh sings Etta James’ At Last which he sang before (watch it here).
Judges’ comments: LA said he is very proud because Josh looks at home up on the stage and is such a rockstar, making the song his own. Paula said Josh he is one of the most authentic people she has ever met and he owns the stage. Simon said this is the five million dollar song. He said Josh took a massive risk but that showed what they liked about him in the first place and believes that this will be a very close call. Nicole said Josh proves that being yourself is all it takes. She also said she is honored to be a part of this journey.
2. Chris sings an original song, Young Homie.
Judges’ comments: Nicole believes that Chris just served his purpose in life and gave them all a gift. Paula believes that Chris is such a gift and makes everyone fall in love with him. Simon said “That was your five million dollar song.” Simon said Chris is a man of his word and a brilliant performer. Adding to all the compliments, he called Chris a true gentleman and nice guy. LA said Chris poured himself in to that whole song. Of course, he said everyone needs to vote for him.
3. Melanie sings Listen by Beyonce.
Judges’ comments: LA loved it! He said, “That wasn’t a five million dollar performance, it was a 50 million dollar performance.” Nicole felt empowered by Melanie’s performance. Paula called it a stellar and gorgeous performance. Simon said he is very proud of Melanie and that is why he brought this show to America (has said this at least 10 times). Simon believes that Melanie will win after her final performance.

If Chris Rene could sing half as good as the other 2 he would be a no questions asked star BUT, H`e cant. maybe he can rap but he CANNOT sing worth a Krap. I think the X factor is just keeping him in there for the rateings of a drug addict trying to climb out of the low place he was in. RIGGED! Did I say that outloud? Yes I did. I could sing him under the table and out the door. And before someone says it YES if I can I will be at an audition

It’s going to be b/w Melanie and Chris. I can feel it. I will be happy with either one of them winning. The one that doesn’t win will still have a big career regardless. I wish all three the best of luck though. I love them all.

If I was going to see any of them in concert it would be Chris hands down. He’s the most fun to watch. He may not have the best voice but he has the x factor no?

I’d be happy with any of them winning. All three are incredible in diff ways.
Chris is the most talanted when it comes to the music industry, he is the most marketable and have many outlets to make money, he is a songwriter, a rapper, entertainer, plays instruments and can hold a note, and hey who ever said rappers are great singers anyway. Mel and Josh are great singers but aren’t great entertainers, they play it safe and they don’t move. I can listen to them sing all day but to get me to a concert hall is unlikely. The question is who can sell millions of records and fill concerts halls. Who really have the Xfactor?
I’m on the east coast, and the number for Melanie did not work for the entire two hours…I kept getting and I quote “Due to network difficulties your call cannot be completed at this time, please try your call again later.”
Chris Renee, should have been gone. I agree he’s only around because of his story, and it’s said because some contestants with true talent were sent home and he’s still there. I wish him well with his drug addiction, and I hope he can continue to kick the habit, but bro you cannot SING!!!!! GO MELANIE!!!!
hello anybody home? rappers don’t try to perfect singing, the Xfactor is not a singing competition, it’s a talent competition.
I feel bad to say this but you cannot compare Chris as a rapper compared to Astro. That boy is a true rapper. I find Chris raps slow, and basic. Same rythme and timing and a bit amature. I love his energy but as a total package I think commercialized he will do great. He probably needs the 5mill to become the artist he needs to be to sell records. Good luck to all of the contestants. My money is between Josh and Melanie.
