Great minds want to know: What will happen on The Office now that Michael Scott is no longer in charge?
Vulture met up with Producer Paul Lieberstein (who also plays Toby Flenderson) at the TV Critics Association press tour earlier this week and got the scoop on the arrival of James Spader on the set and all things Dunder-Mifflin.
Here are a few of the revelations:
On how many episodes James Spader will star in: Paul Lieberstein: “He’ll be in at least fifteen episodes. I love what he’s doing to the cast and our characters. He’s kind of scaring them. He’s bringing out a new side of them and pushing them in ways we haven’t seen in eight years.” On Pam’s second pregnancy:
She will be six months along at start of season. As for her marriage to Jim, Lieberstein hints at some trouble in paradise: “It’s not serious trouble. But they have to go through things; all relationships do. It’s really hard with two kids. Jim’s going to maybe not want to go home so early.”
When will we know who Michael Scott’s replacement is? We’re not playing out the cliffhanger beyond the cold open. Then we’re done, and it’s a new dynamic.
In the interview inside the issue, Lea chats about her career plans, fellow cast mates, and her boyfriend, Theo Stockman.
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On her career: “I don’t stop…It’s my nature. People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway… I want to do movies, make music. Glee is only the beginning.” On getting bad career advice: “How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong.” The Glee concert movie premieres this month. “In 3-D,” she says, laughing, “my nose is going to look fabulous.” On rumors that she’s a diva: “People have to remember this is all new for us. We’re all reasonably young, except for Cory [Monteith], who’s old.” Lea continues, “I’ve learned some lessons. But people are going to say what they want to say. I know who I am, and I’m not perfect.”
On her boyfriend: “I have a small life. I just want to be around [Glee cast] all day”. On a typical night, she and her boyfriend “cook dinner, have wine.”
Team iLuminate received a standing ovation from every single person, including the judges, on Tuesday August 2, 2011 episode of America’s Got Talent.
Howie Mandell called the act “by far the best thing I have seen on this show.” He continued that he thinks they can win the whole thing and begged America to vote.
Piers Morgan called them the “best act of tonight,” “the best act of the live shows,” and “best new act in America right now.”
Sharon Osbourne said they are a world class act and breathtaking.
In order for the creators of Supernatural to develop a new animated world, some of the show’s characters had to go through a makeover to fit the feel of the new environments.
Have you ever thought of making yourself over in order to explore new situations? Who would you make yourself into and where would you explore?
I think I would make myself over and live in a whole new country, like France. I’d love to learn a new language and immerse myself in a whole new culture. A girl can dream, right?
Mila Kunis may have left her homeland of Russia at the age of seven, but she has stayed true to her roots and still knows how to speak the language.
She and Friends with Benefits co-star Justin Timberlake were doing a press junket in Moscow last week and Mila showed off her language skills by asnwering reporters in her native tongue as Justin had to listen to translation.
Justin had an earpiece in, feeding him a delayed translation, and when a reporter asked JT a question which Mila didn’t like, she did not wait for Justin to hear the question in English and answer for himself.
A Russian reporter asked Justin “why movies” (instead of music). Mila laid the smack down: “Why movies? Why not?” Kunis testily replied. “What kind of question is that? Why are you here?”
“If you gotta blunder, you gotta blunder big,” were the self deprecating words of The Kinetic Kingwho had the biggest #fail on live television. Ever.
WOW! I was left speechless and horrified for the absolute disaster that took place for this gentle and lovable man on America’s Got Talent Tuesday August 2, 2011.
The usually electrifying and impeccable Popsicle sticks act of Kinetic King completely failed to work for the fist time. KK had worked on this act for 36 hours straight but when it came to show time, nothing worked or went his way.
Piers Morgan told him that on a scale of 1 to 20 million, his act hovered around the minus 1 mark. “I know it took you 36 hours and I feel for you but I have rarely seen an act go that wrong.” KK said, he will be famous now for being “the biggest loser on AGT“.
Sharon Osbourne said the problem was having his assistants start the motion and not the expert himself.
Howie Mandell said next time “don’t use the glue.” KK said he was baffled, and Howie said, “Yes, when I look at you I see the word ‘baffled.'” KK said he was absolutely stumped. He blamed humidity and coloration of sticks as possible reasons why his act failed. He said he may advance if he brings out the nerd vote. Gotta love this guy.
