‘American Idol’: SHOCKING Results Show
TONIGHT’S RESULTS ARE ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE!
SPOILER ALERT: I am blogging live from the result’s show. If you want to know who is in the bottom three right now and who gets voted off and eliminated on American Idol Thursday April 7, look below. If you want a behind-the-scenes of Wednesday night’s performance night – keep reading.
This season, I have heard a lot of complaints from fans about the judges’ comments being too nice. Well, let me tell you why they are seemingly too positive: When you hear the contestants sing live on the Idol stage and in person, they all sound fantastic.
These top nine finalists are extremely talented and they even sound better in person than they do on TV. That’s why Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson heap so much praise on them.
When Jacob Lusk sang Man in the Mirror last night, every person in the studio had goosebumps. We all knew we had just witnessed an Idol event to be remembered for years to come. While Scotty McCreery electrified the crowd, James Durbin moved us to tears. Pia Toscano sounded amazing on her first up tempo;song but JLo was right – she definitely needs to up her showmanship. Stefano Langone connected with the lyrics so much, we could feel it his passion for the song.
Paul McDonald was the perfect way to end the show with a bang! His style is so infections. His smile is even more infectious. And his teeth are so brightly white, we could see them from 200 feet away. His rendition of Johnny Cash’s Fulsom Prison Blues made the entire place so happy, that we all felt as we were kids at Disneyland. While Idol replayed of each Idol‘s performance and their phone numbers on TV, in the studio, all Idols ran to stage and hugged and congratulated Paul on his performance. And the entire time the numbers and replays played on TV, the Idols were dancing and doing the Dosey Doe! You could tell that they all really like each other.
The biggest Idol cheerleader in the crowd last night was Christian Slater! He was pumping his fists and rocking to every contestant’s song! He is obviously a true Idol fan. And the judges – unlike previous years when they left the studio during commercial breaks, they all stayed with the audience and during each break, a team of two to three makeup and hair people would work on each judge to make sure they looked pretty for the next segment.
Back to the contestants…they were all so mesmerizing last night that I am sad to see any of them go home…but that’s how Idol works, so, here are the results from Thursday’s (April 7) results show:
LIVE BLOGGING:

VIDEO: Casey Abrams Wants To Make The Judges Proud
Casey Abrams has proven for two weeks in a row that he deserved to be saved by the American Idol judges.
Randy Jackson said: “You definitely did justice to that song.” About Casey’s bass, Randy said, “You’ve put it in popular music, dude. This is revolutionary!”
Steven Tyler loved the performance so much that he said Casey should put wheels on the base and take it everywhere! He gushed: “You’re such a true musician; every time you sing, you bring something different.”
“That’s exactly where you belong – right there, with your bass,” Jennifer Lopez said.
VIDEO: James Durbin Went Soft On Rock ‘N Roll Hall Of Fame Night
Each of the American Idol Top 9 finalists brought his/her A-game to the special Rock &Roll Hall of Fame episode Wednesday night.
I was on set tonight and will write a full recap and review later tonight about the experience watching Idol LIVE, I mean REALLY LIVE, in the quaint 700-person studio. So, check back to read the full story.
But for now – let’s focus on James Durbin for a minute who took a major risk and mellowed things down on a night we expected him to go full out rock ‘n roll on us. And, the risk paid off – James came out vulnerable, sweet and emotional…well, until the last screech which we know and love him for!

VIDEO: Jacob Lusk Wants Us To Look At The “Man In The Mirror”
We’re down to the final nine on American Idol and every one of our contestants was “in it to win it” Wednesday night –If I may borrow an oft-used Randy Jackson line.
I was on set for this very special Rock & Roll Hall of Fame episode and will write a full review later tonight about the experience watching Idol LIVE, I mean REALLY LIVE, in the quaint 700-person studio. So, check back to read the full story.
But for now, I will share the performance video below by Jacob Lusk who sang Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror, being backed up on vocals by Siedah Garrett, the co-writer of MJ’s iconic song.
Lusk ditched Let’s Get It On at the last minute in favor of Man in the Mirror because he could not identify with the “do the nasty” message of Marvin Gaye’s hit. The decision was a success as Lusk really connected with MJ’s message. Every person in the studio had goosebumps when Lusk finished because we all knew we had all just witnessed something amazing together.

Move Over Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest Is The New Top Reality Dog
Ryan Seacrest, the busiest man in showbiz, has now ousted Simon Cowell from the top spot on The Hollywood Reporter‘s fourth annual Reality Power List.
Cowell was ranked number one the last two years in the running but has now dropped to number 6 among the 50 people considered to be making the greatest impact in the realm of unscripted television.
The rankings were based on: Having a reputation for quality and innovation within the business; the indelible mark one makes on his/her shows as overseeing executive, producer, or talent; one’s overall impact on pop culture, and the “watercooler” factor: One’s ability to create dramatic, comedic and can’t-miss TV moments.
Gwen Stefani: “I Ain’t No Lady Gaga, I Put Pants On!”
Gwen Stefani graces the May cover of Elle Magazine and in the interview inside, she dishes about current female pop stars, songwriting lessons learned from Prince, performing while pregnant and her marriage to Gavin Rossdale.
“The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day – we were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us–it’s one of my biggest achievements.”
“Prince, who is one of my idols, gave me some advice when I worked with him: ‘Have you ever just tried writing a hit? Like, don’t just try writing a song, try and write a hit song.’ I remember him saying that and me thinking, Yeah, you’re right. Why would you write anything else?”
On performing while pregnant:
“It was horrible. Certain songs would make me want to puke. You feel pretty gross when you are first pregnant. You don’t feel cute, you feel disgusting. You’re getting fat. It was hard. I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”
On Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry:
“I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that. But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”
