Dancing With The Stars: 4/18 Scores, Recap, Performance Videos
For the first time in three weeks, there were no falls or shoe breaks on Dancing with the Stars. Instead, it was a night of good old fashion great dancing! Well, not so old fashion. But just some amazing dancing.
Romeo and Chelsie Hightower danced the Foxtrot to New York, New York. Romeo was stoked because he’s already lasted longer than his dad Master P did on the show before he made his exit with a score of an 8. Yes, 8. Romeo wanted to add swagger to the choreography and Chelsie agreed as long as they would do it the ’60s kind of swagger to go with the feel of the song. Romeo looked sharp in his tuxedo and top hat. I swear I can’t help but smile when I watch these two dance. They melt me…just like the little town blues melt in NY, NY!
Chelsea is such a great dancer and so beautiful to look at, I sometimes forget to also check out Mark’s moves. But I made a point of paying attention to him too Monday night and he just floored me once again. He’s such an amazing talent and is simply mesmerizing to watch–there is a reason he’s coached two of his partners to winning the mirrorball trophy. OK, back to Chelsea. Here is what the judges had to say about her:
Bruno (9): “You had all the go for it, positive energy of America. And the sizzle and excitement of Brazil. The best of both worlds. And you are so clean. Your placement is so good. You are so tight. You are really really such a good dancer darling, you really are.”
Carrie Ann (9): “You guys dance so well together. Your attributes match perfectly. I think this was fantastic, again.”
Len (8): “Yum yum what a bum. Honestly. This was a party and I’m not talking a Tupperware party. This was real good fun….well done!”
Total score: 26
Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke danced the Viennese Waltz to America The Beautiful and Chris said his mission was to get higher than a 7 from Len –the score he said he’s received 3 weeks in a row. Chris looked oh-so-handsome in his military getup and rocked the ballroom dance, thanks to his stellar posture and form. The duo put on an elegant and effortless number. Chris then did his best impression of Len and announced he got an 8! Did Chris get a good score out of Len? Here is what went down from the judges panel:
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Foxtrot to American Woman. Kirstie said in rehearsals, “Everyone says there is no front runner,” and then continued with a pout, “I want to be the front runner.” Because of the mishaps this duo have experienced on the main stage the last two weeks, Kirstie enlisted the help of a “Dance Doctor,” John Travolta.
Kendra says she’s not “f—ing afraid of elegance” and that Carrie Ann made her “feel like trash” when Carrie Ann said last week that the Playboy bunny is afraid of her sexy side. Quite frankly, I am tired of Kendra crying and complaining all the time and I don’t find her whining sexy. Then again, I am not a man, so, what do I know.
AND, here is the leaderboard:
Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas: 26
Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke: 26
Romeo & Chelsie Hightower: 26
Kirstie Alley & Maks: 23
Kendra Wilkinson & Louis van Amstel: 22
Petra Nemcova & Dmitry Chaplin: 22
Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff: 22
Celebrity Apprentice Recap Summary 4/17
On the women’s side, Hope wanted to host the show. Star Jones wanted Marlee to host one of the demonstrations because Star just can’t sit quiet and take assignments and listen. The women were surprisingly making some great meal selections and task assignments despite their lack of unity. Once they arrived at their test kitchen, they were all happy with the setup. The original menu was two steaks and a seafood meal, with La Toya Jackson having been tasked with making one of the steak meals. Ne Ne Leakes voiced her concerns that one of the steaks should be changed to a burger. So, Hope told La Toya to change her menu and cook a burger instead. La Toya deemed this last minute change as another tactic to give her a task at which to fail.
The men of Team Backbone were all simply stated, confused. Gary was all over the place and made no sense when giving instructions or speaking. Lil Jon was finally given a task: He had to cut up paper. John Rich was working on Meat Loaf’s menu but Gary came over and took charge and made changes. He told John to “Sit down boy!”
The women decide to not cook anything during the demonstration and just show off three finished meals instead. La Toya ran through her presentation as a test and Hope’s biggest piece of advice to her was to “speak up.” To the camera Hope said, “If she keeps baby talking, someone is going to smack her.” NeNe was getting frustrated because her test time was being cut and interrupted by having to wait for sign interpretation for Marlee Matlin. Hope was getting frustrated with NeNe because she’s “more nervous and gets more frustrated than anyone knows.” Despite all their cattiness, the ladies worked it out and did a pretty good job in cooking the meals.
Donald Trump met with the Omaha Steaks executives and this is what they told The Donald:
“The women were terrific. They were very well organized. They obviously really worked as a team (HUH?!) and gelled as a team. But the women didn’t do as much live cooking as the men.” They called out NeNe for failing to say “Steaks” when naming “Omaha”.
The women won yet again and actually looked like they were getting along well back in the suite. Well, I spoke too soon. There went NeNe telling the camera: “I was very happy for Hope. But I wasn’t feeling like celebrating because I keep getting a label in the boardroom. I don’t really like them. Really, of all the girls, I am the least negative, and I really can’t understand what I have done to be given a label.” Star stood up for NeNe saying she’s not a negative person and went over and consoled her. NeNe called La Toya a ‘bitch’ to Star for saying in the boardroom she would not call NeNe.
Tune in to Celebrity Apprentice next week because it looks like a great show down between NeNe and Star is in the works. And La Toya, who I must admit, I am falling in love with!

On tonight’s show, the players had to create a 20-minute live cooking demonstration for Omaha Steaks.
The project managers were *GULP* Gary Busey and Hope Dworaczyk. One of them doesn’t cook or eat meat while the other one simply unloaded the lion’s share of the task on a single team member and left the team with no time to rehearse.

Nicolas Cage Arrested For Domestic Violence
I think a lot of people saw this one coming after Nicolas Cage was caught on tape recently having drunken rants.
Cage was arrested in New Orleans early Saturday morning after an alleged altercation with his wife Alice.
According to TMZ, the New Orleans Police Department states that Cage and Alice got into an argument on the street about the address of their rental home in New Orleans and Cage grabbed Alice by the arm to take her to where he thinks the two were staying.
But why is Cyrus fleeing the country? Turns out she isn’t feeling the love from America.
“I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don’t know if they want me to tour or not,” she told Fox News. “Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me.”
But Miley is doing more than just touring abroad, she’s also withholding her music from her American fans — she released her cover, ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ in Australia and currently has no plans to bring it home.
As of yet, Cyrus will not be touring her new album, ‘Can’t be Tamed,’ at all in the U.S. Her American fans will have to splurge on a plane and concert ticket to see Cyrus live this summer.
Miley only wants to go “to the places where I get the most love. Don’t want to go anywhere where I don’t feel completely comfortable with it,” she said.
So what’s got the pop star so jilted on her mother country? We’ve got no clue. Her family drama seems to be mending itself — dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, just called of his divorce from wife, Trish — and her U.S. records sales have been through the roof. How’s that for showing some American love?
As for her family: “My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I’m happy they are happy.”
It sounds like everything is swell in the Cyrus household but what’s one family who won’t be sharing in the happiness? Cyrus’ American fans. Cyrus would rather struggle through her subpar Spanish in South America.
“I Speak zero Spanish,” she said. “I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way.”
Spotted: YouTube Sensation Rebecca Black (Photos)
Rebecca Black’s YouTube video, Friday, surpassed the 100 million view milestone this week. Believe it or not, it is now the 23rd most watched music video of all time on YouTube. And climbing.
And if that weren’t amazing enough for someone totally unknown a few weeks ago, it was reported recently that the cast of Glee will pay homage to the YouTube sensation by performing the song on an upcoming episode of the show.
How did Rebecca celebrate? She came to The Grove Friday for a chit chat with Mario Lopez of Extra. Here are some pictures of her after the interview:
Darren Criss Dishes On Start Of His Career And His Future
Glee star Darren Criss graces the upcoming cover of Billboard magazine.
The accompanying story talks about Criss’ start in musical theater, a possible solo album and the Glee tour. Here are some excerpts:
“For me, it was Disney. I remember seeing people’s reaction to ‘Aladdin’ and thinking, ‘Oh, man, I want to be a genie when I grow up!’ Robin Williams is a pretty big character in San Francisco. I was like, ‘I want to do whatever that guy does. What does he do, Mom? He’s an actor? OK, I want to do that.'”
About a possible solo album with Sony music:
“We’re working on it – we’re really excited and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’m so thrilled that it’s something that can happen because of ‘Glee,’ and like the Warblers album I hope I can do it justice and make it something that people can really enjoy.”
About playing at Staples Center:
“A year ago, I was so psyched that my first show in LA was at the Troubadour. Talk about so much for baby steps. It’s like, ‘Wait — Staples Center, are you kidding me?’ I was happy to drive around in a beat-up, crappy old van with my bandmates and just go to small clubs around the country.”
