Lindsay Lohan Lands SNL Hosting Gig

Lindsay Lohan has snagged herself a hosting gig on the March 3rd episode of Saturday Night Live Lindsay did not even need her mom/manager Dina Lohan to get the job done. Per TMZ, the actress herself reached out to SNL exec producer Lorne Michaels whom she sees as a father figure and made the deal.
This will be Lindsay’s fourth time on the show, and her first time since 2006.

Billy Crystal Replaces Eddie Murphy As Oscars Host

Out with one SNL alum, in with another. Billy Crystal will replace Eddie Murphy as host for the 84th Academy Awards. “I’m thrilled to welcome Billy back to the Oscar® stage,” said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Tom Sherak. “He’s a comic legend and Oscar icon, and it feels good to have him back where he belongs.”

Said Mischer, “With Billy, we’re moving forward with one of the greatest hosts in Oscar history. His return to the Oscars® is, in a sense, a celebration.”

This will mark Crystal’s ninth time as host. Only Bob Hope has hosted more Academy Awards presentations, with 19 ceremonies between 1940 and 1978. Crystal last hosted the Academy Awards in 2004.

“Some of the best moments of my career have happened on the Oscar stage. I am thrilled to be back there. Actually, I am doing this so that the young woman in my pharmacy will stop asking me my name when I pick up my prescriptions,” said Crystal.

Melissa McCarthy Shines In SNL Hosting Debut & Delivers The Ratings

YAY FOR GIRL POWER! AND, way to go Melissa McCarthy!

As a first time host on Saturday Night Live this weekend, not only did McCarthy deliver a funny physical performance in every skit, but she also, with help from musical guest, Lady Antebellum, drew a solid 5.2 rating/13 share in metered-market households.
That’s a 2% increase from SNL‘s season premiere last week (5.1/13), which was Alec Baldwin’s record 16th turn as host.
Yesterday’s SNL also was up 8% vs. the same night last year. 
Now, that’s what I call, KICK ASS!

Video: Justin Timberlake & Lady Gaga SNL Game Show Parody

Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga teamed up on the season finale of Saturday Night Live (May 21) on a game show parody called “What’s That Name?”

The joke was that Gaga could remember the names of random fans but Timberlake couldn’t even remember the name of a woman he’d slept with only two weeks ago or the names of his former ‘N Sync band mates. The show was hosted by Bill Hader. Continue reading
