Prince William & The Duchess Are Coming To America…And Canada

Guess who’s coming to America? I know, the picture is a dead giveaway! Oh and I guess the title too.

You guessed right: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William and the former Ms. Kate Middleton may be newlyweds who aren’t yet taking a honeymoon but they’re definitely coming to the US.
No itinerary is made available yet but they will definitely stop in California July 8-10.
Oh Canada! Don’t feel left out – they will visit your land first from June 30 – July 8.

Royal Wedding Photos – From A Bystander’s Perspective – Simply, Amazing!

Ever since Friday, and perhaps even from weeks before for some of us, we have been glued to our TV sets and the internet to watch anything and everything which has to do with the Royal Wedding.

And we still can’t get enough.

So, to feed your appetite and fancy a bit more, here are some photos from the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton from a perspective that you probably haven’t yet seen. Or experienced.

My friend Nilou Tamaddon Jones is an American living in England. She woke up at 4 AM April 29 to be in front of Buckingham Palace by 6:15 AM on the day of the Wedding. She and her friend Diane Glauser had taken a three-hour train ride from Harrogate, North Yorkshire to be in London the day before. They ate very little for breakfast on the big day (a muffin and hardly anything to drink) so they could stay at their spot all day without a need for a bathroom break. Oh yeah, I hadn’t even thought about that! BRILLIANT!

Nilou and Diane got some great shots of the Princess and Queen leaving for Westminster Abbey before the wedding…and then got everyone’s return back to the Palace by 1:30. It’s amazing how close civilians got to the action – how wonderful it must have been to witness history unfolding right before your eyes while we, the rest of the world, all watched it happen on TV!

Enjoy!

British Tax Payers To Pay How Much For The Royal Wedding?

WOW – it’s expensive to run a Royal Wedding!

Security alone for the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton (The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) is reportedly costing $35 million!  SAY WHAT?! But it’s true…that’s what it costs for the 5,000 hired police officers and armed forces which were needed to make sure it all went down safely and smoothly.
I hope Britain’s taxpayers enjoyed their Royal Wedding because it will be them who will be paying for all this…which does not sound so fair now, does it?

The total cost of the wedding, including the flowers ($800,000), banquet, dress and ring is expected to top $60 million.

Kate & Prince William: The “Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge”

Congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton – the two have just exchanged their vows Friday morning and are now husband and wife.

The newlyweds now have an official new Royal title, bestowed on them the second they tied the knot: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The official Royal Wedding website contains the following statement from Queen Elizabeth II:

“The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus….Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.”
