Ali Fedotowsky: “We Were Unhappy More Than We Were Happy”

Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and her chosen fiance Roberto Martinez announced 9 days ago without explanation that they have called off their engagement. In the new issue of People magazine, which hits newsstands on Friday, Ali now tells us what happened.

Ali says: “I wouldn’t be being truthful if I said this came out of nowhere. We definitely had been having problems. But I had always believed that we could work it out.”
Ali, who was reportedly crying during her interview, said she wanted the relationship to work, but the two could not stop the arguments. “We both realized we were unhappy more than we were happy. And we both deserved more,” she confessed.

Ali Fedotowsky & Roberto Martinez Announce Their Breakup

Sadly, another reality-made relationship has ended. Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez who met on The Bachelorette and got engaged last year have called it quits.

“Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have ended their relationship,” their rep revealed. “As they go through this difficult time, we ask that you respect the couple’s privacy.”

Last month, Ali denied rumors that their relationship was in trouble after the couple had announced that their wedding was placed on indefinite hold. “We didn’t meet in the most traditional way,” Ali explained.  “We had a very short courtship and we only knew each other nine weeks before we got engaged,” Fedotowsky said.

“We are still figuring out our lives as individuals….We’re still engaged, we’re still living together,” she said at the time.

That was then. Today, it’s all over…wishing both of these two the happiness that each deserve.

Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky Postpones Wedding To Roberto Martinez

Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky has postponed her wedding date indefinitely, but it’s not what you think.

Ali and fiancé Roberto Martinez are still crazy in love but Ali is still recovering from an injury to her femur and the resultant surgery in May to repair the damage and wants to wait until she is able to walk herself down the aisle.

Ali told People: “We had a date set, and that date has now passed. The decision to postpone [the wedding] was very difficult. I definitely shed some tears.”

Ali explained: “But I want to walk down the aisle. I don’t want to limp down the aisle.”

Best of luck Ali and I hope you recover soon.

RECAP: Bachelorette ‘Men Tell All’ Didn’t Tell Us What We Wanted To Hear

The Bachelorette, The Men Tell All, aired Sunday July 31, 2011. Ashley HebertChris Harrison, and the castoff bachelors revisited some of the most memorable moments of the season.

From masked man Jeff to bad boy Bentley Williams, this promised to be an unpredictable reunion. We all wanted to hear Bentley explain why he went on the show and why he played with Ash’s heart. But Bentley rained on our parade and was a no show, leaving this get together one of the tamest and possibly lamest in recent memory.

Here are some highlights:

WHY ASHLEY SLEEPS WITH A JAR OF VASELINE BY HER BEDSIDE
Ashley answered viewers’ question on why there was a jar of Vaseline next to her bed when she was crying over Bentley. She said she uses Vaseline as chapstick. ZZZZZZZZZZ…more much ado about nothing like the rest of this season..
RYAN P. IRKS THE MEN
Ryan admitted to being over excited on the show – especially when he got nervous. Ashley said her goodbye with Ryan (the first one around) was her hardest goodbye, especially when he asked her, “You don’t want to meet my family?”
Ryan went from being too happy on the show to having an emotional breakdown when Ashley sent him home. Blake called Ryan out on his breakdown and said, “Call me skeptical, or playing devil’s advocate, but my problem is you and I had roughly the same amount of time with her, and maybe your conversations had a lot more depth than mine, but to walk away and be so completely devastated when she said ‘no, thank you,’ I find it surprising.” Blake continued and told Ryan that after being dumped, he kept saying he wanted ‘love,’ but never said he wanted ‘Ashley,’ and felt the two were interchangeable for him. Ryan said he bought several relationship books before coming on the show and made pages of notes on what to ask a potential mate, so, his time with her was very real. “I came prepared.”
JEFF THE MASKED “IDIOT”
Jeff said that he wanted to wear the mask the first night only. Then he thought it would be funny to wear it during the rose ceremony. Chris D called Jeff an idiot for wearing a mask on the show. Tim said masks freak him out and it’s creepy. Good one Tim, but you know what else freaks me out? Men passing out drunk on their first date!

WILLIAM GOES FROM FRONT RUNNER TO SECOND MOST HATED
William, who went from having the best first date ever and almost marrying Ashley to roasting her to tears at the comedy club, said he was only able to stomach watching the first episode when it aired on TV. He could not even watch the high lowlights shown on Men Tell All. He even covered his ears during the recaps. He said he can’t watch or listen to the sound of his voice on TV. He said he made an ass out of himself on TV and can’t change what happened; he can only change himself moving forward.
Nick asked William who he wanted to be The Bachelorette, Chantal or Emily, and William said, “I was happy with Ashley.” Nick followed with, “Why are we all here?  William said, “Cause none of use can find a girl to date, cause all of us are single.”
MR. POPULARITY, AMES
The women in the studio audience went nuts for Ames and he told Chris Harrison that he is surprised with all the attention he’s gotten since the show. He said, “Ashley said a bunch of times that I was unique and different, and I thought maybe that was a gentle way of saying, ‘this isn’t working,’ but I just hope that whatever is unique and different about me, appeals to someone.”
Ames said his relationship with Ashley felt natural and real, and he didn’t pay attention to her relationship with other men, so, he did not realize he was behind other guys.  But don’t feel so bad about Ames, he will be appearing on Bachelor Pad 2 for another chance at love. As a parting gift, Chris gave Ames his pink Thai boxing gloves!
BENTLEY IS A NO SHOW
Bentley was invited to the show but he declined to attend. BOOHOO BENTLEY, BOOHOO!!
Nick called Bentley’s game plan “crappy.” Blake took it where he should have and said what Bentley did to Ashley is a “terrible display of humanity.” He called him a coward, narcissist, and a liar. Mickey said, “Karma is a bitch, my friend!”
Michelle Money, who had warned Ashley before the season started about Bentley was on the show Sunday. She said it’s hard to know when things are true or not but her information from Bentley’s ex-wife was valid and hurtful enough, so, she decided to tell Ash. Michelle told Ash that he was there as a game and wanted to stay there just a week. Michelle said “we all want what we can’t have” and wondered if she had NOT warned Ash, maybe she would not have been drawn so hard to Bentley.

ASHLEY FACES HER REJECTS
Ashley, dressed in a killer sexy black dress, came on stage and said the men looked good!
She said the hardest part of this process for her is how everyone has reacted to how things went down with Bentley. She fought back tears while admitting that she felt like a fool for being played on national TV and being called ‘an ugly duckling.’ She said people have been really hard on her. Ash continued, “The hardest part is seeing how much time I wasted. If I could go back, I would change that. Wasting so much time is my biggest regret.” She asked the men for forgiveness for that part. Blake said it wasn’t so much Bentley, but he was bothered by anyone coming back for a second chance and the fact that she fell so hard for someone so fast.

DEANNA PAPPAS, ALI FEDOTOWSKY AND JASON MESNICK SHOW ASH SUPPORT
Ali said this season was hard for her to watch because she related to Ashley in that she felt like a normal girl and wondered like Ash did if the men wanted her. Ali said the process is worth it if one can find that one guy like she has. DeAnna said the second Ash kicked out Bentley, she stood up and raised her arms and jumped up and down in joy.

ASHLEY IS HAPPY!
In case you are wondering, Ash is happy! She confirmed: “I am very very happy and I hope everyone can hold out a bit longer and can share in my enjoyment.” Well, we actually do not have to wait much longer. The season finale of The Bachelorette airs Monday night, August 1 on ABC.

The Bachelorette 6/20 Recap: Who Got A Rose And Who Almost Ended Up With A Broken Nose?

Week 5 (June 20, 2011) episode of The Bachlorotte sent three bachelors home. Below is the full recap. If you like the recap, “like” our Facebook page by clicking here and we will let you know about future recaps and exclusive Bachelorette news.

RECAP

The eleven remaining bachelors and Ashley Hebert were in Chaing Mai. There were three dates this week, a one on one, a group date and a two on one, where one bachelor would be sent home.

And this is the episode that Bentley’s return started to take shape – well, sort of. I mean, did he really ever leave?? We’ve heard more about him than any other guy still left.  Now, I’ve met Ashley and I liked her a lot but the ghost of Bentley, or hearing his name repeatedly, is becoming my pure hellish torture, and if Ash doesn’t stop soon, I just don’t know what I will do!

ONE ON ONE DATE WITH BEN F.

‘Let’s fall in love in Chaing Mai, Love, Ashley,’ is the date’s clue. Before the date, Ben said there is a “100 percent chance Ashley will be kissed today.”

Ashley and Ben were whisked off to a local marketplace where they walked around, ate and shopped–taking in the whole Thai culture. Ashley said the more she gets to know Ben, the hotter he seems to her. At one point, the two were staring into each other’s eyes but Ashley said, “you know, we can’t kiss here, it’s not allowed (near the temple.)” So, they had a mental kiss instead. Ashley told the camera there was so much tension that she just wanted to jump on Ben.

Over what Ashley called “the most beautiful outdoor dinner that Ben F. has ever seen,” they talked about life, his wine business and family, including the death of Ben’s father. The chemistry was awesome and undeniable — just as it was during their group date at the orphanage. So, of course Ashley gave Ben a rose and they kissed while a traditional show took place around them. Ashley told the camera that there is a lot of passion between the two of them and that Ben is the kind of guy she could fall in love with.

GROUP DATE
Constantine, Ames, Nick, Blake, Ryan, Lucas, JP and Mickey got the group date which left William and Ben C as the two on one date. The date card read, “Love is worth fighting for,” and unfortunately for all involved, including us the viewers, it meant literally. Guess ABC didn’t learn from the hot mess that the comedic roast group date created, so, it took things to a whole new level of date absurdity by making amateurs take part in Thai boxing.

At first Ashley was excited because she said “it was a really hot way to watch the men,” and she hoped to find the masculinity in them. OK, Ash, I can think of another way or two, but, this is your show, so, a fight it is. Poor Ames must have had a premonition because he said he had not idea what he was doing but if he got a broken nose, it would be worth it. Ashley kept saying how hot this date was at every opportunity. The men sure enjoyed watching her in her spandex, too, until they realized the seriousness of the day ahead of them.

Ames is not much of a fighter and it didn’t help that he ended up with pink gloves and boxing shorts. It made things worse too that the men were taken to a real boxing ring in middle of town with a huge crowd gathered to watch them beat the crap out of each other. I wondered at this point if Ashley still thought this was a hot way to spend a date.

JP was freaking out because he is the smallest guy there but didn’t want to show his fear. Two men at a time got in the ring. Blake and Lucas started the fights and of course testosterone took over in this intense environment of fighting over a woman, not only in front of the said woman, but all her other suitors as well, not to mention half the town that had shown up to watch. FINALLY  it hit Ashley that this may be a dangerous idea. Blake won the match.

Mickey and JP took to the ring next. This whole Gladiator-like dating scenario really bothered me and made me cringe, as it did Ashley at times. JP took an early beating but soon realized he was going to die if he didn’t fight back so, he brought his street game and ended up winning.  Ames went against Ryan but told the camera that he’s never been in a fight in his entire life because he always finds another way around problems. Ryan gave Ames some shots to the head because he wanted to impress Ashley. Ames not only lost the fight, but he was left loopy with a bloody nose. The guys and Ash were concerned about Ames and Ash ran during the last fight (Nick and Constantine) to get the crew to get Ames to a hospital to make sure he was OK.

Ames came back to the group date at night and said he was “dizzy but OK.” Ames told the camera he had a hard time speaking with Ash because of his head and told her that the docs said he was totally in love. Despite all Ames went through, somehow, Blake got the rose at the end of the night.

TWO ON ONE DATE
William and Ben C got the first two on one date of the season. William wanted Ben gone as soon as possible, so, he stabbed Ben in the back by telling Ashley the first chance he got that Ben is ready to go home and explore the online dating sites. About the other men in the house, William said some have her on their minds and others don’t, boiling up Ashley’s insecurities. Oh William, you were the early fave of so many of us, why did you have to go become a rat? As soon as Ash got back to Ben, she abruptly said, “I want to end the 2 on 1 portion of the date right now.” AND BAM, just like that, she sent Ben home, without even having confronted him. So messed up. I did not see that coming from our sweet lil Ash. Ben tried to explain he was joking with the guys, but, Ash’s insecurities had taken over and it was too late for Ben.

During what then became a one on one date with William, Ashley did not feel the same feelings she had felt during her first date with William in Las Vegas, and there was no renewed spark, so, she sent William home as well. Here is what Ali Fedotowsky said today, and she should know: “Not surprised that Ash sent both guys home on this date. You don’t bring guys u ‘like’ on the 2-on-1 date. Even if she kept 1, he wouldn’t have lasted much longer.”

ASHLEY ASKS FOR BENTLEY WILLIAMS
Ashley decided she needed closure with Bentley Williams before she could move forward with the other men. So, she had a heart to head talk with Chris Harrison. She told him that she is certain about the core group of guys she wants to go forward with but she still has Bentley on her mind and “what could have been.” Chris told her it’s not fair to the guys who are fighting for her (literally girl, they’re getting the crap beat out of them for you). But Ashley said the only way to pay respect to the men is to be honest with them and figure out the Bentley situation.

She told Chris, “there was something there [with Bentley].” She asked to talk to Bentley so she could ask him a couple of questions. “The fact that he left me with a ‘dot dot dot,’ leaves me wondering….” Chris said he is there for Ash and he will do what he can to “make something happen.” And we all know that “something” will be to bring Bentley back. OH GOD HELP US ALL!

ROSE CEREMONY
Blake and Ben F already had roses from their dates. Constantine, Lucas, JP, Ames, Mickey and Ryan all got roses at the ceremony. Nick was sent home. Ben C and William were already sent home on their dates.
Tune in next week for a visit to Hong Kong and the return of Bentley. And guess what? The other men feel betrayed that she brought him back – can you blame them?

Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky Gets Staples In Head After Kayaking Mishap

Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez at Reality Rocks Red Carpet

The former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky had a pretty bad day Sunday: She had to get five staples in her head after a kayaking trip gone wrong.

UsMagazine.com is reporting that Fedotowsky went kayaking with fiance Roberto Martinez in La Jolla, California and was knocked overboard.

Ali’s rep says: “Ali and Roberto had a little mishap when their kayak capsized this weekend. Ali was taken to the hospital and had 5 staples put in her head. Roberto was fantastic — he kept her calm and took great care of her. She is doing fine, and actually off to work this morning.”
This is what Ali herself Tweeted: “Made it out of the ER w/staples in my head & a little less hair after falling out of a kayak. Scary stuff. Wearing a helmet next time.” She also wrote, “I think I freaked out more when the doctor cut my hair rather than when he put staples into my head. Lol. Very thankful to be ok :).”
