Who loves Big Brother 13 ? I DO, YOU DO! So, here is a recap of the good, the bad, the ugly, the beardless and the Lawon.
We started the August 10, 2011 episode Wednesday night with Kalia as HOH, Jeff and Rachel on the block, and Rachel being Kalia’s target for eviction. We also started fresh off of a new deal in place between Shelly, Daniele and Kalia but knowing that Shelly’s intention was and continues to be to stay loyal to Jeff and Jordan.
RACHEL BREAKS DOWN. Again.
Rachel started annoying Daniele during the eviction nominations ceremony even before Kalia announced her nominations. Shelly grabbed Rachel and took her in private to tell her to keep calm. She even pulled the “Brendon doesn’t want to see you that way [destroying her chances].” Rachel felt personally attacked because Kalia called her catty. Shelly said in the Diary Room that she tried to help Rachel even though she wants Rachel out of the game because she doesn’t want to see people self destruct on a personal level.
RACHEL PACKS HER BAGS
Rachel went to the Have Not Room and started packing because she felt that being torn apart from [her best friend, soul mate and fiance] Brendon and being attacked by the houseguests is not worth the money. Jordan did her best to stop Rachel, saying later said in the Diary Room that Brendon’s job was to “manage” Rachel and now that he is gone, the role has fallen on her shoulders and it is “tough work.”
PORSCHE ABANDONS RACHEL; TEAMS UP WITH DANIELE
Daniele and Porsche hear Rachel’s bitching and they laugh at her behind her back. Porsche has decided to distance herself from Rachel because “Rachel has lost it.” She even went so far as to tell Daniele that she will vote out her once-biggest ally because she is being “annoying.” I guess Porsche forgot that Rachel stood up for her and evicted Cassi when Cassi said negative things about Porsche. This change of allegiance only made Daniele too happy and we hear her say in the Diary Room that she likes Porsche and wants to work with her now that she is not “attached to Rachel’s hip.”
JEFF FIGHTS A WAR -the Vietnam War
Jeff compared BB House to a war in Vietnam. He said he will die for his team and wants to know who is with him. He wanted to draw a line and the people with him be on his side so he can fight the enemies on the other side of the line. Kalia eavesdropped and heard all of that and also heard Jordan say that Kalia is just following Daniele’s orders. She had a meltdown because all of this has stressed her out.
It became clear quickly that Kalia can’t handle the pressure of being HOH. She was losing it because she does not want Jeff as an enemy. She wants to do “anything under the sun” that she can to make sure he knows that neither he nor Jordan are not her targets.
VETO COMPETITION
To pick players, Kalia picked Adam’s name out of the bag. Jeff picked Shelly. Rachel picked houseguest’s choice and chose Jordan. Kalia then chose Porsche as host. The players went out, dressed in Greek togas to play Big Brother Odyssey game.
They each got a Greek name. Jordan was Jordanna. Jeff was Jeffaestus. Adamathous… Their task was to roll a rock/ball back and forth on a two-sided ramp/hill and gain one point for each completion until someone got 300 points for the win. If that isn’t hellish enough, each time one would drop his/her ball, their score would go back to zero. Rachel pissed Shelly off the bat when she told Shelly she won’t give her play hints. Kalia wanted to win the POV to get back in Jeff’s good graces. Jeff wanted to win POV to show Kalia everything he said is coming true: That he would win POV and gun for her. Shelly wanted to win to get “her buddy Jeff off of the block.”
Rachel was terrible and kept dropping her ball with Daniele and Porsche laughing at her. Jordan was bad too. Kalia was mediocre and took a break when she realized Jeff was way ahead of her and rooted him on verbally with “C’mon Jeff…C’mon Jeff, don’t drop it.” Daniel said Kalia looked like a fool rooting for Jeff and bowing down to him. Adam and Jeff did great and were head to head for most of game with Adam being ahead until the very last second when Jeff beat him by a score of 300 to 298. So, Jeff won Power of Veto, his first victory in the house.
TEAM SHELLY, JEFF & JORDAN
Shelly took Jordan and Jeff aside and told Jeff, “Next time you pick my name I want a little more enthusiasm because I am gonna kick ass.” And then told them she wants them to all stay together and not quit. Jordan then questioned Shelly’s loyalty and Jeff followed. Shelly said she has been with them since day one and never strayed and then stormed out mad. Jordan started crying because she felt bad and Jeff said he can’t handle any more women crying.
Jeff went to find a crying Shelly and said, “Shelly, you are such an idiot.” It was said jokingly. Shelly explained herself and said from the beginning she’s played the Trojan horse and got info from the other side for the sole intention of getting Jeff and Jordan to the end. Color me confused. Isn’t Shelly playing for Shelly to get to the end? Jeff pinkey promised that he is with her and will always take out the bad guys. He said, “If you win this game, I don’t mind going down.” Once she believed his loyalty, Jeff joked, “Should we make out?!” Shelly laughed…”No, we should not,” she said.
JEFF, JORDAN, & KALIA MEET
Jordan told Jeff if Kalia put her up as a replacement nominee, it will be war. The three met in the HOH Room and Kalia told them she wants Rachel out of the house and that’s why she nominated Jeff so he could win POV. Jeff stood his ground and said Kalia made a stupid move to risk Jeff’s safety. He said, “You made me dance for my dinner and, so, if I win, expect a couple of big dances from Jeff.” Kalia said the only true action she has left to rectify her wrong [and gain their trust] is that she will not put up Jordan. Jeff said, “Do whatever you want to do.”
ADAM TURNS 40 AND SHAVES HIS BEARD
Adam has not shaved his beard for six years and said even his girlfriend has not ever seen him without a beard. After he shaved the whole thing off, man, he looked like a whole new person. CRAZY! He actually doesn’t scare me anymore.
RACHEL MEETS WITH KALIA
“I know I am the target, obviously,” said Rachel. Rachel told Kalia if she makes a deal with her, a lot can be repaired between Kalia and Jeff and Jordan. Kalia told Rachel that a lot of people want her evicted and Rachel said, “If you put the right person on the block, I won’t get evicted.” Rachel promised that she would not forget the gesture. Rachel actually looked calm, cool and collected. She was a player again. No pouting, no baseless threats. Kalia asked her if she would go after Daniele and Rachel said, “Of course.” Rachel did say it would be guns blazing if she gets evicted and comes back in the house via a twist.
KALIA LIES TO DANIEL
Kalia lied to Daniele and said Rachel promised BOTH of them safety if she stays. Daniele did not want Kalia to change the plan and still get rid of Rachel and Kalia said the twist worries her and she needs to stop playing the game under Daniele’s shadow. The two could not agree what the next best step is and decided to re-huddle later.
LAWON PULLS CRAZIEST MOVE EVER ON BIG BROTHER
Kalia told Lawon, Porsche and Daniele that she does not feel comfortable with the twist anymore. And unbelievably and to everyone’s shock and laughter, Lawon volunteered to be put on the block next to Rachel AND be evicted. He said worst case, he will come back after the twist and continue his play. Lawon said in the Diary Room that he will be coming back with some special power. Kalia and Daniele loved the idea because Kalia will not have any enemies in the house whether or not Lawon comes back after eviction. Kalia went so far as to say, “If Lawon doesn’t get to come back, he will watch this moment over and over for the rest of his life…” You all just know that Marcellas Reynolds is somewhere laughing that he will no longer have to own this crown of dumbest BB move…
POV MEETING
Jeff of course took himself off of the block without even giving Rachel the chance to make a case for her savior. Kalia nominated Lawon to Jeff, Jordan and Rachel’s delight. Rachel was hilarious in the Diary Room afterwards: “I dont even think Lawon knows hes on the block; I think he thinks he’s just sitting in some comfortable chair.”
In the Diary Room, Jeff called Kalia an idiot for putting up one of her own people and a floater no less. Jeff also said that Kalia may think this makes her cool in JJ’s world, but Jeff will not forget what she did.
