American Idol runner-up, Lauren Alaina, released her debut album today, called, Wildflower. The title was inspired by She’s a Wildflower, written by Hillary Lindsey, Steven McEwan and Gordie Simpson.
“I feel like it has a flavor for everybody,” Alaina says. “There are fast songs for people who like up-tempos that you can dance to, and there are also tearjerkers for people who like slower ballads. I tried to get songs that are all a little different so that we could bring a fresh feel to each and every song.”
Here are the songs off of the album: “Georgia Peaches” “Growing Her Wings” “Tupelo” “The Middle” “Like My Mother Does” “She’s a Wildflower” “I’m Not One of Them” “The Locket” “Eighteen Inches” “One of Those Boys” “Funny Thing About Love” “Dirt Road Prayer”
Tilda Swinton plays the mother of a violent, disturbed boy in her latest movie, We Need to Talk About Kevin.
Rocking a tuxedo jacket and silk blouse by Salvatore Ferragamo, the 50-year old Michael Clayton and Adaptation actress recently told W mag: “When we were trying to finance this movie, we would reference Rosemary’s Baby. It’s every pregnant woman’s nightmare to give birth to the devil.”
Interesting words for the Oscar-nominated actress and the only girl in her immediate family who just admitted to Great Britain’s The Telegraph Magazine that she once tried to kill her own bother:
“Years ago, when James Bulger was murdered, every newspaper front page was talking about evil. At that point, having suppressed it for years, I remembered when I was four or five, I tried to kill my own brother… He was newly born and I was disappointed, because he was the third boy. That was enough as far as I was concerned.”
She continued, “I went into his room to kill him, saw some ribbons from a bonnet going into his mouth, and began to pull them out. And I was discovered saving his life. So I had this strange reputation – my brother’s savior – and no one knew I wanted to kill him. It took the Bulger case for me to remember that I’d seriously wanted to.”
“[Parents] in the States freak out if their kids see a nipple or a butt cheek, but at the same time they’re OK with their kids watching people bash each other’s heads in with baseball bats,” the actor says in the latest issue of Out magazine.
Skarsgard comes from a place where nudity isn’t that big a deal. He says that may be due to the “cold dark winters” in Sweden. He joked:
“That’s the boning season. And then it’s spring, and that’s also boning season. And summer’s the best boning season.”
As if that isn’t clear enough, Alexander concluded: “We f-ck a lot.”
Relativity Media has released still images from their still-untitled Snow White project, including a first look at Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen.
The movie will also star Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Abduction) as Snow White and Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the prince.
Collins says about Roberts: “Everybody knows Julia’s smile and the sound of her laugh, and she really takes advantage of it and uses it in a different way for her version of the Evil Queen. She used her magic and smile and laugh in a creepy way.”
What do you think of Julia as the Evil Queen? Do you buy it?
SPOTTED: Pia Toscanoperforming with Talina at New York City’s 67th Annual Columbus Day Parade October 10, 2011.
Talina, diagnosed with autism at the age of two, has found the “ability” in “disability.” She is striving to become a pop star and, in the process, break all stereotypes of what a child with a disability can accomplish.
For the parade, NY’s Fifth Avenue was transformed during the parade, the world’s largest celebration of Italian-American culture.
The parade featured 35,000 marchers, over 100 groups, including bands, floats and contingents, and nearly one million spectators.

Naya Rivera of Glee graces the cover of the November 2011 issue of FHM mag. When asked in the interview if she is similar to the scandalous cheerleader she plays on the hit Fox show, she shared, “Ha! Not at all. I’m really easygoing nowadays. Mind you, when I was 17 things were a little different.”
Naya also spoke of fun times on the Glee set: “The Glee girls had a pillow fight in the last episode of season two. Our characters were supposed to be writing songs in a New York hotel room, but we got kind of rowdy and started hitting each other. I’m not sure who won, but I do know that I am definitely to be feared in a pillow confrontation – I take no prisoners.”
