Gwyneth Paltrow Was Almost A Casting Couch Victim

The casting couch may still be alive and kicking in Hollywood. Who knows how many actresses fall prey to it because it is an unspoken topic usually. But Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her own experience with this topic.

In a new interview with Elle, Paltrow speaks about a time when she was promised a role if she would have sex with the person in charge.

Paltrow says of the incidence: “When I was just starting out, someone suggested that we finish a meeting in the bedroom. I left. I was pretty shocked. I could see how someone who didn’t know better might worry, ‘My career will be ruined if I don’t give this guy a blow job!'”

Obviously Paltrow’s career does not seem to have suffered when she stood up for her rights, but Paltrow admits she was offered better roles when she was younger.

When Elle asked this 38-year old actress how she feels about the kinds of roles available to women today, Paltrow said: “Kind of dejected. There’s a lot that’s okay, but there’s little that’s really good, especially for someone my age. Sometimes you find out that something you really liked is going to someone 10 years younger. I find it heartening that Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have been able to find and create amazing projects.”

Kim Kardashian Blogs About Her NYC Bar Fight

The Kardashian sisters, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney and Kourtney’s boyfriend, Scott Disick were at Juliet Supper Club in NYC shooting their reality show when a male fan asked for a picture with Kim.

Apparently, the guy’s girlfriend became upset and threw a drink at Kim and a fight ensued. Kim addressed the fight on her website today.
Kim Kardashian wrote:

I want to address this because everyone has been asking me if I’m ok after the bar fight last night. I’m totally fine, guys!

Last night Kourtney, Scott, Khloe and I went out to a bar to have a fun night on Khloe’s last night in NYC. A drunk male fan came up to me and asked to take a picture, and I obliged, but his girlfriend, who was also drunk, got a little out of hand.

Luckily I had Scott and Khloe there to protect me. None of us were drinking… we just wanted a fun family night out, but when people see the cameras rolling, they try to get attention and I guess that’s what happened when the drunk girl saw that we were filming KKTNY. I always take the high road, so we all left straight after and didn’t feed into their drama.

Marilyn Monroe’s Never Before Seen Diaries Portray A Playful But Tortured Soul

We may think we know all about Marilyn Monroe, but a new publication of never-before-seen diaries, notes, letters and poems, set for release October 12, promises to unveil a whole new Marilyn to us, almost 50 years after the icon’s death.

These bits of intimate text—jotted in notebooks, typed on paper, or written on hotel letterhead, and compiled as Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters by Marilyn Monroe—reveal a woman who loved deeply and strove to perfect her art. They portray a Marilyn Monroe unsparing in the harsh analysis of her own life, but also playful, funny, and irresistibly charming. She is shown as a worldly, intelligent, and cultured yet tortured woman, consumed by both profound sadness and optimism.
Throughout the diaries, she makes references to her crippling insecurities, shockingly portrays a woman being unworthy of affection and reveals what may have been her greatest fear: Disappointing the people she loved.

The diaries and letters were discovered among Monroe’s personal effects, which she left to her acting teacher, Lee Strasberg, on her death in Los Angeles in 1962 at the age of 36.
Through her poetry, Marilyn sheds light on her marriages to James Dougherty, Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller.
Vanity Fair has published some of the poems:
On husband, Arthur Miller:

my love sleeps besides me —
in the faint light — I see his manly jaw
give way — and the mouth of his
boyhood returns
with a softness softer
its sensitiveness trembling
in stillness
his eyes must have look out
wonderously from the cave of the little
boy — when the things he did not understand —
he forgot

This one, titled After One Year of Analysis:

And
Help help
Help
I feel life coming closer
when all I want
Is to die.
Scream —
You began and ended in air
but where was the middle?
