SHOCKING Night On American Idol – Who Got Voted Off?!

Seriously America? You We didn’t wait long before you we delivered the first shocker in this season’s American Idol.

SPOILER ALERT: Following Wednesday night’s Motown performances, it was Thia Megia, Casey Abrams and Stefano Langone who found themselves in the bottom three.

Before it was all over, Thia and Stefano were told they were safe and America’s collective jaw fell to the floor as Casey found himself alone on the chopping block and in jeopardy of going home. 

Casey then sang I Don’t Need No Doctor to save his life. But he didn’t have to sing long because the judges know more about talent than we the fans. Randy Jackson waived his hand and motioned Casey to stop mid song. 
“We know who you are, we don’t need to hear you sing anymore, do we, Steven?” Randy asked.
Steven Tyler agreed of course, “No, this is crazy wrong. We’ve made the decision here to keep you on.”
The 20-year old Casey was shaken to his core, and you could read his lips say: “Oh my f*cking god!” He asked the judges, “It’s top 11, why would you do that?!”
Jennifer Lopez told Casey: “We just want you to get back to being the musician that you are. No more antics.  No more anything. Let the people feel your soul. And you’re gonna stay. You deserve to be here.”
Casey said later,”I thought that they wouldn’t use the save, because there’s 11 people. It’s unreal. I started singing, and the fact that you cut it scared the stuff out of me.”
Because the judges used their one save of the season, two of our finalists will be voted off next Thursday. And because there are no more saves left, America, WE have to get it right from now on!

Around Town Los Angeles: Music & Concert Photography Exhibit

A very unique photography exhibit featuring many celebrated musicians and up and coming artists from the Rock ‘n Roll scene is taking place at M Street Coffee + Gallery in Sherman Oaks, CA from now until April 3.

An artist meet and greet will be held March 26 from 5 -7 pm at a cozy reception at M Street Coffee with Bobby Aazami, the talented photographer who has brilliantly captured these one-of-a-kind moments in music history.

Bobby’s love for the visual medium was fostered at an early age in his native Iran after watching his first episode of The 6 Million Dollar Man on television. Enamored with what he watched on his TV set, Bobby explored his love for the arts by trying his hand at every creative medium from music production to stand up comedy, until he found utter bliss through the lens of a camera.

Bobby spent 4 years abroad in Haifa, Israel during which time he was mentored in photography by a seasoned and well-known photographer, Ruhi Varqa (www.Varqa.com). During that time, Bobby learned to capture the profound beauty of Mediterranean landscapes and the silent moments of the people who inhabit them. The relationship between people and their environments kindled Bobby’s childhood love for story-telling and characters, and ultimately toward documentary film making. Bobby returned to the States and earned a BFA in Film and Video with a concentration in Documentary Cinematography from Chicago’s Columbia College.

Bobby has since worked on photo-journalistic projects which have taken him to places such as South Africa where he used his photography to document and raise awareness on the HIV epidemic. He has also worked as a set photographer on a series of features and short films, as a music photographer who has captured the refined moments in portraiture, concerts and the recording process of some of his favorite artists and lastly, as an event photographer who incorporates his love and artistry for the documentary aesthetic to capture the subtle and unguarded moments of life’s celebrations. Video: James Durbin Leaves Jennifer Lopez Speechless

Wednesday night’s pimp spot on American Idol belonged to the show’s lone rocker, James Durbin.

Durbin sang Stevie Wonder‘s gritty urban anthem Living for the City, and showed off his incredible vocal power and range.

Sure, there were lots of yelps and shrieks and of course some Adam-Lambert-like histrionics, but he gave the song his signature rock grit, and reduced Jennifer Lopez into squealing five, six, or possibly even seven audible, “Oh my Gods!” Lopez continued: “It’s just an incredible thing to watch. You leave me speechless!”

Apparently not “speechless” J.Lo, just with nothing else to say but, “OMG!”

Video: Casey Abrams May Look Like Zach Galifianakis, But His Voice Is “Unique”

Casey Abrams tried to clean up after the scare he gave little girls across America last week when he howled through his performance by sleeking to a smooth finish his crazy locks on Wednesday night’s American Idol. Yet somehow he unintentionally ended up looking like the famous comedian.

Abrams growled through yet somehow charmed us again in his rendition of Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through the Grapevine. 
After last week’s fearless but a bit screechy-sounding Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Casey sounded more crisp this week and was much more in control of his voice.

“I think you’re the perfect entertainer,” Steven Tyler cheered on. “Perfect pitch and perfect mix of crazy-ass out-of-control ego and that’s what makes an artist today.” Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson were in agreement with their fellow judge, calling Abrams very unique.

Elizabeth Taylor Dead At 79

The iconic Elizabeth Taylor died early Wednesday morning of heart failure. She was 79.

“She was surrounded by her children- Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton,” said Taylor’s publicist, Sally Morrison.

Her son Michael Wilding released the following statement:

“My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world.

Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV and AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished.

We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”

Elizabeth had won three academy awards. Twice for best actress for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Butterfield 8 and was also awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1993.

Some of her other movies include Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Jane Eyre.

A private family funeral for Elizabeth Taylor will be held later this week. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth’s family is asking for contributions be made to her AIDS Foundation.

Charlie Sheen made a sudden surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night during an interview with Mark Cuban of ABC’s Shark Tank when Kimmel and Cuban were talking about Sheen.

Cuban was saying, “Charlie’s a smart guy…He doesn’t get near the credit that he deserves for being smart.” At that very moment, Sheen exploded onto the set, and the crowd erupted in a loud cheer which only grew louder when Sheen threw “Tiger Blood” t-shirts out to the audience and gave Kimmel a big wet kiss on the mouth (side note – both men had their eyes closed ;).

James Franco Fights Back Against Oscar Joke Writer

It’s true – James Franco did not exactly kill it as an Oscar‘s host. But Oscar joke writer Bruce Vilanch opened up a can of whoop ass on Franco in New York magazine’s Vulture blog and Franco did not wait long to strike back via Twitter.

Vilanch told Vulture: “[Franco] has so many balls in the air, he didn’t get to town till Thursday before the show on Sunday…I don’t think he realized how big a deal it is to do it until he was actually confronted with it. I think he thought he would kind of … I don’t know what he thought.” As if that wasn’t a big enough stinger, Vilanch continued,”I have to call James Franco and tell him the show’s over.
