Not sure I am digging the new blonde locks, but, how cute did Katy Perry look in her bedazzled Smurfette dress at the blue carpet premiere of The Smurfs in New York? Of course no flouncy white mini Smurfette dress would be complete without blue Christian Louboutin heels.
Before the premiere, Katy tweeted: “Headed to SMURF VILLAGE for the premiere of The Smurfs!!! I’m SMURFETTE!!! I’m blue… aba de aba die aba de aba di aba de aba di! YAY.”
Rascal Flatts has released a moving tribute to Caylee Anthony, She’s Going Places.
Caylee, who’s death captured the hearts of a nation, is now forever memorialized in song: “She was just a baby barely two years old…a story that shouldn’t have to be told…now we cry, because we can’t understand.”
“She can be anything that she wants to, she can ride her bike every afternoon, she can laugh and play…just like all little girls should get to do.”
Lots of teenage girls walked right by Justin Timberlake at Comic-Con this past weekend–some even took pictures with him–and they didn’t even know it!
Timberlake was not alone. His partner in crime? Esquire writer Chris Jones, who accompanied him as Bert. Jones said the idea was all Timberlake’s, who thought that “Bert and Ernie made for better bonding” than Elmo and the Cookie Monster.
Under the Twitter handle MySecondEmpire, Jones tweeted:
“If you were at Comic-Con yesterday, and you took a picture with a sketchy Bert and Ernie… I was Bert. Justin Timberlake was Ernie.”
“I would pay good money to see the faces of the teenage girls who had no idea Justin Timberlake’s arm was wrapped around them.”
Captain America easily won the box office, earning $65.8 million on Friday and Saturday, challenging Thor as the highest-grossing superhero opening of the summer.
Harry Potter‘s final journey dropped a staggering 72 percent in its second weekend but that was expected after everyone and their mother saw the movie at least once during its first week.
Amy Winehouse spent years battling heroin and alcohol addictions but the cause of her untimely death is still unknown.
“She seemed out of it. But her passing so suddenly still hasn’t hit me,” she told the mag. She said goodbye to her daughter after a good day together and will always remember the final words her daughter ever uttered to her: ‘I love you mum.’
“Amy was on her own at home apart from a security guard who we had appointed to help look after her over the past couple of years. She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed,” Goodman told the paper.
A picture is worth a thousand words. So, I will keep this short, since I have a picture!
Immediately after Kristen Stewart told Comic-con fans about her new role on next year’s Snow White and the Huntsman, Universal released a few promotional shots from the movie.
Big Brother 13 aired its week eviction nomination episode Sunday July 24, 2011.
The show started with Dominic admitting in the Diary Room that The Regulators may be the worst alliance in Big Brother history. And, well, he is correct, considering half of their alliance has been evicted in back to back weeks with only two evictions to date!
RACHEL AS HOH
Rachel says she has never lost an HOH. That’s amazing. Adam admitted he has to start kissing Rachel’s butt. Lawon realized his chances of being put on the block are high and said he will go on fighting like a dog. Jordan felt good about Rachel having won Head of Household even though she and Rachel had a bit of a tiff last week. Jeff felt since Jordan put up Cassi last week while Jordan was HOH at the request of Brendon and Rachel, that Rachel should put up who Jeff wants gone: Adam and Dominic.
Rachel came out and screamed, “Who wants to see my HOH room?” And no one responded. Or could be found. Why? Because everyone was hiding, and then ambushed her with pillows. It was nice to see the whole house having fun together.
RACHEL MEETS WITH ADAM
Adam tells Rachel he will deliver whatever she wants. Adam threw Kalia and Lawon under the bus as “floaters.”
RACHEL MEETS WITH LAWON
I’m not really sure what Lawon told Rachel. Funny enough, Rachel later said in the Diary Room that she did not know what Lawon said either and that she hates when people speak in circles. Yet to Lawon’s face, Brendon told him that he trusts hims. “You’ve had our back until now.” HUH, how? But Rachel is smarter because she said she doesn’t trust anyone but Brendon in the house.
BRENDON HAS MYSTERY KNEE SCABS!
Does anyone watching the live feed know what is wrong with the two scabs on Brendon’s knees? Could it be that he was injured during one of the competitions? He is definitely sporting some major rug burns on both knees!
LUXURY COMPETITION
The houseguests came to the backyard to find a red carpet. They all wonder if a celebrity would show up to visit them and Adam went nuts in the Diary Room over whether Tori Spelling may have been the surprise guest. Well, it wasn’t Tori. At first, it was a random guy who shared a name with a famous celebrity and the competition involved the houseguests guessing who the real celeb is so the celeb could come for a visit.
The first clue was three bars of soap and a pair of binoculars. Somehow, Jordan figured out that the bars of soap were Bay (a brand of soap) and the binoculars were for word “watch”: So she rang the bell and guessed the name David Hasselhoff as the lead in Bay Watch. All the other houseguests thought it was a soap star they had to name.
The second clue for the remaining players was a microphone. Brendon rang the bell next and guessed Michael C. Hall for Dexter as his guess. Porsche guessed Michael Jackson. Adam guessed Ricky Martin. Lawon guessed Barbara Streisand. The next clue was a knight carrying a life vessel. Jeff guessed Mike Night. Rachel guessed Kira Knightly. Then it got even more absurd with Dominic guessing John Stamos.
The houseguests then heared a car engine revving, only to find David Hasselhoff in the Knight Rider KITT car. Hasselhoff named Jordan as the winner of the competition. Her prize was a private party for her and three guests with food and a screening of Same Name, CBS’ new show. Jordan picked Jeff, Shelly and Kalia as her guests which left Rachel shocked and pissed.
Jordan later said she didn’t ask Rachel and Brendon to the party because they would be kissing the whole time and she didn’t want to suck up to Rachel when she is HOH.
RACHEL AND BRENDON FIGHT
It’s almost not worth mentioning that Brendon and Rachel fought because that’s all they have been doing. But after they lost the competition, Brendon got on Rachel’s case for helping Porsche in the luxury competition. He also said he’s risking his PhD to be in the BB household and didn’t want Rachel to risk it all by being sensitive and fighting in front of everyone. The rest of the household could hear them argue and Daniele even said, “We’re not in couple’s rehab!”
Brendon then said he was so mad he wanted to go fight everyone including putting up Jeff and Jordan. Then they calmed down a bit and Rachel said she really wants to have her dream wedding. Brendon says the stress of the BB house on their relationship is not worth what they could win financially.
RACHEL MEETS WITH DOMINIC
Dom tells Brenchel he “100 percent” wants to play with them because they are the strongest competitors in the house. Brendon tells Dom that since Brenchel has won everything, they have a bigger target on them than Jeff and Jordan. So, he wants to work with Dom and Daniele against everyone else. Rachel even told Dom that she wanted Cassi and Shelly nominated last week but Jeff chose Dom, calling that nomination Jeff and Jordan’s “first strike.” She then said that the party invites were Jeff and Jordan’s “second strike, their dumbest strike in the world.”
RACHEL MEETS WITH DANIELE
Once Dom told Daniele of his meeting with Brenchel, Daniele decided her best plan was to turn them against Jeff and Jordan and vice verca, taking blood off of her hands. She told Rachel and Brendon that Jordan’s party invites was the dumbest decision ever. She then told them that one of these two teams will flip on each other and that Rachel is too scared to put them up. SMART MOVE challenging Rachel like that. Of course Rachel shot back, “I’m not scared.” As Daniele was leaving, Jeff came in and asked, “What’s up?” When Jeff asked them if they were sad or upset about not being invited to the party, Brenchel both lied and said no. Jeff reassured them that they have Brenchel’s back and proved it by not back dooring them last week. Rachel is left confused.
NOMINATION CEREMONY
Adam and Dominic were nominated. Both of them felt l like they are the pawn and safe. Rachel did not say who her target is in the Diary Room. All she said is that it’s crucial that she win the POV this week as well so she has all the power while she makes deals with the houseguests.

Russell Brand took to pen to write a moving tribute to his friend, the now deceased Amy Winehouse.
In the tribute, Brand speaks of the first time that the two met – at a time which he was a brand new recovering addict. He also speaks of the first time he heard Winehouse on stage and the awe that enveloped him watching a “genius.”
Here are some excerpts – you can find the letter in its entirety on Russell’s website:
“When you love someone who suffers from the disease of addiction you await the phone call. There will be a phone call. The sincere hope is that the call will be from the addict themselves, telling you they’ve had enough, that they’re ready to stop, ready to try something new….”
Brand continues, “Frustratingly it’s not a call you can ever make it must be received. It is impossible to intervene. I’ve known Amy Winehouse for years. When I first met her…Carl Barrat told me that “Winehouse” (which I usually called her and got a kick out of cos it’s kind of funny to call a girl by her surname) was a jazz singer, which struck me as a bizarrely anomalous in that crowd…She was sweet and peculiar but most of all vulnerable.”
I was myself at that time barely out of rehab and was thirstily seeking less complicated women so I barely reflected on the now glaringly obvious fact that Winehouse and I shared an affliction, the disease of addiction. All addicts, regardless of the substance or their social status share a consistent and obvious symptom; they’re not quite present when you talk to them. The priority of any addict is to anaesthetise the pain of living to ease the passage of the day with some purchased relief.”
Brand remembers, “From time to time I’d bump into Amy she had good banter so we could chat a bit and have a laugh, she was “a character” but that world was riddled with half cut, doped up chancers, I was one of them, even in early recovery I was kept afloat only by clinging to the bodies of strangers so Winehouse, but for her gentle quirks didn’t especially register.”
“Then she became massively famous… I was becoming famous myself at the time and that was an all consuming experience. It was only by chance that I attended a Paul Weller gig at the Roundhouse that I ever saw her live.”
“I saw Amy on stage with Weller and his band; and then the awe. The awe that envelops when witnessing a genius. From her oddly dainty presence that voice, a voice that seemed not to come from her but from somewhere beyond even Billie and Ella, from the font of all greatness. A voice that was filled with such power and pain that it was at once entirely human yet laced with the divine. My ears, my mouth, my heart and mind all instantly opened. Winehouse. Winehouse? Winehouse!….She was a fucking genius.”
“Shallow fool that I am I now regarded her in a different light, the light that blazed down from heaven when she sang. That lit her up now and a new phase in our friendship began. She came on a few of my TV and radio shows, I still saw her about but now attended to her with a little more interest. Publicly though, Amy increasingly became defined by her addiction. Our media though is more interested in tragedy than talent, so the ink began to defect from praising her gift to chronicling her downfall….”
“Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old. Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today. We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease.”
