Emily and Ben had to overcome their fear and climb to the top of the Bay Bridge for a view of the city that he’s never seen before. I tell you, you could not pay me enough to take that hellacious scary walk. The other women are in the hotel room, spying on Ben and Em with a telescope.A lot of you have emailed and asked: How did Ben and Emily get back down from the Bay Bridge?  Well, once you start the climb up, there is no turning back. The only way off of the bridge is to go up to the top and down the stairs that are in the column that runs back down to the ground. So, there you have it!

At dinner, she tells Ben that she tried online dating and was matched with her brother! After awhile, Ben says that he likes where this is going and he likes how she handled the bridge climb. HE GIVES HER A ROSE and the two then enjoy a private fireworks show.

GROUP DATE:
Ben took eleven of the women on a ‘snow ski’ trip in San Fran. A street was closed down and snow was shipped in to turn the street into a ski slope. Of course, it was bikini skiing. After skiing, the group went to an indoor pool which has a shower.

Rachel and Ben share a kiss. Kacie B. steals Ben away and tells him that it’s hard for her to watch him with other women. Blakeley tells Ben that the other women hate her. He told her to try and focus on this and try to make friends.

Rachel gets the group date rose. Ben takes Jennifer aside and calls her the best kisser.

ONE ON ONE DATE WITH BRITTNEY
Ben sent Brittney a box which contained a necklace with a key with SF on it. After getting the date card, Brittney felttorn and confused. She admited to Emily that she made a promise to herself that if she felt that her heart was not in this,she would leave on her own. Brittney went to Ben with her luggage and told him that she thinks he’s going to find a really good woman there, but it’s not going to be her!

ONE ON ONE DATE WITH LINDZI
Since Ben had no second date after Brittney left, he decided to take Lindzi on one to get to know her better. They first go on a trolley ride. They then go to a closed City Hall and Ben whips out a key and unlocks the door. Inside, Matt Nathanson and his band sing Faster for the couple. They dance and kiss.

At dinner, she tells him that her former boyfriend broke up with her after a year and a half of dating by texting her, “Welcome to dumpsville, population you.” Ben likes her so, HE GIVES HER A ROSE!

MYSTERY WOMAN/SHAWNTEL NEWTON VISITS:
Shawntel Newton, (the mortician from Brad Womack’s season of the show who made it all the way to the final four) comes to see Ben. She tells Chris Harrison that her feelings for Ben are very strong and he tells her that she’s going to have to get his attention.

Of course this surprise appearance does not sit well with the women in the house. Shawntel finds Ben and interrupts his talk with Elyse. After the two talk, Ben tells Shawntel that he will consider whether or not to let her stay.

The women question Shawntel’s motives and call her fake. Courtney goes so far as leaving the room, saying that if Ben gives Shawntel a rose, she would leave the show. Elyse calls Shawntel “Brad’s re-used dumpster trash.”
