Julianne Hough helped kick off the voting campaign for America’s first ever “Hero Dog Awards” Monday at the VA Medical Center-Manhattan by visiting patients who live with therapy dogs. She also performed an acoustic set for the lucky ones in attendance.
The American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards presented by CESAR Canine Cuisine celebrates heroic dogs that truly transform human lives. The award is meant to shine a spotlight on these amazing dogs making a difference for people in need every day, by providing comfort, support and unconditional love.
Starting today, YOU CAN HELP TOO by voting for your favorite hero dog at www.HeroDogAwards.org. For every vote, CESAR Canine Cuisine will make a donation to American Humane Association to help spread the love of therapy dogs to those that need it most.
During her acoustic performance Julianne told patients that the very first song she ever sang in public was “How Much is that Doggie in the Window.”

During her visit, Julianne talked about life on the road and being away from her family. She said her dogs Lexi and Harley are truly her safe place while away. She takes them to the set of her current film, Rock of Ages. And she’s not the only one! Director Adam Shankman brings his dogs to set too – and has even brought a groomer to set for them.
Holy sh*t. Who is this beefcake? Believe it or now, it’s none other than a pumped up and tatted Tom Cruise for his role in the upcoming Rock of Ages.
“Ladies and gents: first look at tom cruise as stacee jaxx! First day of shooting!” the film’s director Adam Shankman tweeted Friday with this photo of Cruise mid-action.

Take today for example. The entire cast of ABC’s hit comedy, Modern Family, completely took over parts of the popular shopping center to shoot several scenes for an upcoming episode.
The episode was surprisingly being directed by Adam Shankman, best known as choreographer and judge on So You Think You Can Dance, but who has also worked on such films as Hairspray, Deuce Bigalow and Catch Me If You Can.
Despite the fact that the cast and crew had worked all day, they were all amazingly sweet, extremely interactive with the crowd gathered to watch them and even took the time to talk with the fans and even take some pics! I heart this show.
