Owen Wilson Retells Story Of His Surfing Accident

Owen Wilson told Jay Leno during his appearance on The Tonight Show Tuesday that he received 24 stitches to his head after a recent surfing accident in Hawaii.

“I took on a wave that was probably too big for me. I went off the back and the board kinda caught air and the board came back and hit me in the forehead and I got 24 stitches,” Wilson said.

He then recounted an episode of his brother coming across a shark in the same area as his surfing accident, and told Leno that he was fearful of getting attacked as he paddled back to shore with a trail of blood around him. “I was thinking about the shark as I was paddling back in with a little blood dripping into the same cove where my brother was attacked recently!”

Watch what else he talked about during the interview:

Lady Gaga: “Madonna Loves Born This Way”

Lady Gaga was the guest on the Valentine’s Day episode of The Tonight Show and totally charmed the pants off Jay Leno by saying: This is not just a talk show! I’m just an Italian girl from New York. This is the big time for me!”

When asked how she celebrated her Grammy win, Gaga said: “I don’t remember very much. I know it was fun. I do remember being called drunky Gaga at some point.”

As for her new single, Born This Way which a lot of people accuse Gaga of ripping off Madonna, Gaga told Leno: “You know, there is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.”

And the feeling may be mutual. Gaga continued: “I got an email from her people sending me their love and support on behalf of the single. And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be.” So, there you have it. If Madonna doesn’t mind the alleged rip, why should we?

Gaga made two big announcements during the interview. First one: She is taping a film about Monster Ball for HBO. Second one: Her new music video will be out very soon.

Conan O’Brien Earns Emmy Nomination – Jay Leno Dissed. NBC, Becomes Its Own Biggest Loser

NBC, are you OK?

NBC went through a lot of hoopla and bad press to replace Conan O’Brien with Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show, but the results so far do not bode well for NBC. Earlier this summer, we learned that the ratings for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for the second quarter this year were down by 20% over the same time period last year when Conan was at the helm.

You may find that funny, but I doubt NBC is laughing. NBC paid Conan $30 million to leave, and is now paying Jay $15 million a year more than what they were paying Conan. Ouch. That is a big payout to obtain lower ratings. Score: Conan 1; NBC 0.

Now, in another interesting twist of fate, we learned today that The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien earned an Emmy nomination.

Conan will compete against The Colbert Report, The Daily ShowReal Time With Bill Maher and Saturday Night Live in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series category. But Conan will not have to compete with Jay Leno because, Jay was not even nominated. Double ouch. Score: Conan 2; NBC:0.  In World Cup terms, this would mean a blowout win for Conan.

Good for you Conan. You may not have had the first, but you now have the second to last and the last laugh at NBC.

Conan will have a new show on TBS beginning in November.
