Kelly Preston Says Scientology Helped Her Cope With Loss Of Son

Kelly Preston and husband John Travolta suffered an excruciating loss in January 2009 when their 15-year old son Jett passed away.

Kelly is now speaking out in the latest issue of Health and says she got through the ordeal because of her belief in Scientology.

“To be honest, [it was] the Scientology center. I don’t know if I would have made it through without it.”

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On substance abuse:

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs. I’ve done all of that. And now, I live a really clean life.”

On giving herself advice:

“Don’t sweat the small things. Love your kids like it could be the last moment.”

On youngest son Benjamin

“We [had been trying] for quite a few years…When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I’d snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed. We both started crying. It was wonderful.”

On living with a pilot and having own landing strip:

“I’ll be sitting there [at home] doing something really normal with the kids and then all of a sudden I hear, ‘Whoosh!’ and see the lights of the airplane and he’s like, ‘Honey, I’m home!’”

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston welcomed baby Benjamin into their family last November.

Hello! features pictures of the happy family and quotes Travolta as saying, “For us it’s been uplifting. Especially when he smiles at me and seems contented in my arms. He’s given the house a renewed spirit and purpose.”

Congrats John and Kelly!

John Travolta & Kelly Preston Are Expecting :-)

It makes me so happy to report that John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston finally have some happy news to share. The couple released a statement on their websites Tuesday saying that they “are expecting a new addition to [their] family.”

The 56-year-old actor the 47-year-old actress have a daughter, Ella, who is 10. This pregnancy is welcomed news as the couple has otherwise experienced an incredibly tough year. The couple’s son, Jett, died last year at age 16. And, the family’s two dogs were killed Thursday in an accident at Maine’s Bangor International Airport.
