Diddy Dirty Money’s Kalenna Dishes On Her Future, BET Win, & Wardrobe Malfunction

As part of Diddy Dirty Money, along with Diddy and fellow singer-songwriter Dawn Richard, Kalenna is fresh off of a win for “Best Group” Sunday at the BET Awards.

CelebMagnet got answers to some burning questions of the talented musician after she was able to let the win sink in.

On winning the award:
“Although I didn’t elaborate on my feelings Sunday night, I feel very blessed to be in this position.” Kalena continued: “Coming from Philly, being a military brat and a rebellious teen, this is something I’ve always dreamed of and now it’s happening.”

On her acceptance speech and potential wardrobe malfunction:
“ Everything goes out of your mind once you are up there and I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I just didn’t want to to do a strip tease while bending down to talk o the mic. So I just kept it real. I was having fun and I was just being me, being honest.”

Last night’s designer:
“I was wearing Tom Ford. He’s a very hot designer. I loved the look.”

On her future outside DDM:
“I have so many epic plans for my immediate future. I’m so excited about everything that is going on. I don’t want to spill the beans so not to take away from its authenticity, but there is a single one the way, videos, performances and more of me helping in my community with the homeless and those suffering from Lupus.”

2011 BET [Redemption?] Awards: Chris Brown & Michael Vick Among Award Winners

The BET Awards were broadcast live Sunday night from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Big winner of the night? 22-year-old Chris Brown who walked away with five trophies, including male R&B artist, video of the year and collaboration for Look at Me Now.

Brown thanked his fans and said they are everything to him. “I know it’s been a long road. I just appreciate every blessing that’s been put in front of me.”
Brown not only won big, but he was also involved, albeit due to no fault of his own, in the most awkward moment of the night. BET changed its usual paper envelopes with tablets for the first time when announcing the winners. And when they tried to announce the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award by using a random young viewer to read the results, all went to the crapper. The young announcer went blank-faced for a second before announcing Chris Brown as the winner. Then, to her horror a couple of seconds later, she backtracked and said, “I’m sorry, the winner is Rihanna for What’s My Name.” The crowd jeered as Rihanna’s song played. The co-announcer then said, “This is awkward, the winner is Drake,” as Drake came on stage to accept “his” award.

If that weren’t bad and strange enough, BET later tweeted a congratulations to Chris Brown for winning the Coca Cola Viewers Choice Award. So, the fan was right the first time but we have no idea why the mistake was made.
