Haute Living Los Angeles celebrated its May/June cover star Ethan Hawke with Bertaud Belieu Rosé at Socialista in New York last night. From playing a bashful Todd Anderson in the 1989 classic ‘Dead Poets Society’ to an unabashed Everitt Lewis in the newly-released biopic ‘Maudie’ (in theaters now), few would disagree that Ethan Hawke—the student—has now become Ethan Hawke-the teacher. Although he appears to have an affinity for the former rather than the latter, Haute Living alongside Bertaud Belieu celebrated the actor-turned-director-turned-author’s latest cover with an intimate cocktail affair.

As industry heavyweights such as Actor Greg Cohan, Director/Producer Greg Loser, and Director Michael Almereyda, and VIPs, namely Charles Moreau of Bertaud Belieu, Developer Shahab Karmely, Rapper Pat Toussaint, and Haute Living CEO, Kamal Hotchandani made their way past the velvet ropes to the private club at Cipriani Downtown, they were greeted by none other than Bertaud Belieu rosé as a live band set the tone. Guests noshed on decadent veal bitok, prosciutto-stuffed jamon croquettes, and rice mignon, as well as lighter fare, including its signature baby artichoke and avocado salad.

An avid art lover, the height of the night came when artist Paul Gerben presented Hawke with a custom 4×6 mixed media piece to commemorate the affair. The actor was also honored with a Bomberg timepiece set to be donated to charity, before giving a speech alluding to perhaps his greatest role yet—that of a husband and father.
