The one thing I love the most about The Voice is that the coaches really seem invested in their contestants and do a hell of a good job mentoring and supporting them throughout the show and even afterwards. Take Blake Shelton for example. He seems to go to bat for the singers on his team and even went the extra mile when Holly Tucker got slammed by a critic after being booted off last night’s episode of The Voice.
You see, Joey Guerra, a blogger for The Houston Chronicle, wrote a recap of the show which he promoted on Twitter by writing, “#TheVoice sends one singer back to Texas. Don’t worry, it’s not the one we care about.”
Well, that’s all it took for red-blooded Blake to pick up his iPhone and start on a Twitter rant of epic proportions.
“It’s people like you @joeyguerra that make me sick… Holly is not only a talented singer but a great person that’s simply chasing a dream…”
Blake did not stop there. “How about you @joeyguerra grow some balls and come tell me to my face how terrible some of these kids are face to face..? You won’t. Ever.
“You @joeyguerra are a chicken shit. I can’t stand a person that makes a point to write hurtful things about kids just trying their best.” Blake ranted some more.. “I swear to god I cant understand the mentality of a grown man ripping on young kids over and over again for just trying their hardest. Kids! How much do y’all wanna bet he’d NEVER criticize my team OR me like that face to face…. Chicken shit.”
Blake then cooled down long enough to type an apology to his fans: “I’m sorry for going off y’all… But I am passionate about encouraging young people to follow their dreams.. We GOOD people don’t need hate.”
You go Blake!
