Lindsay Lohan at Liz Dick PremiereEven though Tom Brokaw did not attend the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner this year, tons of other celebs descended upon the nation’s capitol Saturday night for the event. Earlier this week, the veteran reporter grabbed headlines when he took issue with the once respected event turning into a celeb filled gala.In an interview with Politico, Brokaw wondered “Why do we think to have a successful evening, you have to have Donald Trump as your guest of honor, for example, or Lindsay Lohan?” Brokaw added, “The breaking point for me was Lindsay Lohan. She became a big star at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Give me a break.” Brokaw mused that standards for the once-respected event have fallen so low; his daughter’s junior prom has more dignity.

No doubt Brokaw would not approve of this year’s event with E! covering the red carpet arrivals and fashions, showcasing a host of Hollywood celebrities mixing it up with Washington’s power brokers. The guest list for the event includeded the cast of Duck Dynasty, Jessica Alba, Kate Walsh, Olivia Munn, Tracy Morgan, Nicole Kidman, Kevin Spacey, Kerry Washington, Michael J. Fox and a host of others. Musicians in attendance included John Legend, Psy, Barbra Streisand and Jon Bon Jovi. Hollywood heavy hitters Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Katzenberg were also in attendance.  The host of the evening’s festivities was Conan O’brien.
