Jamie Lynn Spears Tweets To Justin Timberlake, Refrences “Cry Me a River” Britney Spears Controversy

I am posting this under the ‘bizarre, but true’ tag. For some reason, Jamie Lynn Spears decided to post a vintage picture of older sister Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake yesterday–a photo presumably dated around the time Brit and JT were an item. While doing so, she dredged up 2002’s “Cry Me a River” controversy.

If you are confused, so are we. The newly-engaged Lynn who turns 22 today posted the photo, Tweeting to JT: “@jtimberlake Weird hearing ur music as an Adult. Ha Not only do I appreciate it. I GET it. #jay #crymeariver #mirror.”

If you recall, JT’s anthem for jilted lovers, “Cry Me a River”, first came out when he and Britney Spears had ended a high-profile romance. The video for the song featured a Britney doppelganger and the lyrics implied that JT was cheated on.

Is Jamie Lynn now saying she understands what JT was talking about, confirming his accusations? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Because Jamie later deleted the photo and Tweeted: “I hope you all know that my tweets are only to support my sister @britneyspears.” After deleting that Tweet, she wrote, “anything left over was to @jtimberlake #sisterlove #4eva.”
