I swear, my Dallas Cowboys are cursed. I came upon a pretty depressing report a short while ago and am sadly passing it on to you.

It’s reported that Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was the driver in a fatal single car crash Saturday night in Irving. Brent was then arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter because the passenger in the car, recently signed LB Jerry Brown JR, died in the crash.

The police say that Brent was driving at a high rate of speed at 2:21 a.m. after leaving Club Privae in Dallas. He hit the outside curb, flipping his vehicle. Brown was unresponsive on the scene and transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Both Brent and Brown attended the University of Illinoise where Brent was arrested in 2009 for drunk driving and suspended by head coach Ron Zook.

The Cowboys players were informed of the horrific situation while boarding the team plane to Cincinnati. Jerry Jones has released this statement to Star-Telegram:

“We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”

Blogging The Boys has posted this photo from Jerry Brown’s Facebook page and reports that Brown was on the verge of becoming a father. Brown posted this status 10 days ago, talking about the diminishing fun of the fast life and his impending fatherhood.
